OhioDaddy76 Posted October 28, 2015 Report Posted October 28, 2015 I have noticed a ton of posts talking about books, video games, and watching movies but are there any active/athlete types in our midst? If so, what do you do? These days I primarily think of myself as a runner, and I think I have my eyes set on ultra marathons sometime in the next few years. That said, I'm still an avid weight lifter and I am a certified soccer ref (which is a lot of physical activity if you do it right). I partially ask this question because being active together is one way I would like to spend time with my little (whenever I find one). That's not really about finding thin and athletic women more attractive, but hiking or running can take a good bit of time and would allow me to feed two birds with one hand while building some awesome shared experiences!
ChildishMaster Posted October 28, 2015 Report Posted October 28, 2015 I don't know if this would count, but I like to work out. Most of the stuff I do is body-weight and cardio. I don't really feel the burn from just lifting alone and I'm not trying to build a body builder physique more of a just fighter's.
Guest Tooshytoshine Posted October 28, 2015 Report Posted October 28, 2015 I run (I alternate between working on speed and distance), and do body-weight stuff. I don't like the gym or I'd get into lifting to be honest.
Guest Mr TwitchPool Posted October 28, 2015 Report Posted October 28, 2015 I used to cycle 18 miles a day when I could walk. this was for fun not as an athlete though
mxiio Posted October 28, 2015 Report Posted October 28, 2015 I'm not an athlete anymore, I used to be a professional soldier though and did a bit of Bi-Athlon
OhioDaddy76 Posted October 29, 2015 Author Report Posted October 29, 2015 Good to hear you all are staying active. I don't think it matters what you do so long as you do something.
ChildishMaster Posted October 29, 2015 Report Posted October 29, 2015 Yeah, 10% is always better than 0 right?
Normalnavi Posted October 29, 2015 Report Posted October 29, 2015 I work out every now and then, and I do martial arts. When I get the chance, I also hike mountains nearby my house, like the two times I climbed fuji while in Japan for 3 years
Guest Pouty Kitten Posted October 29, 2015 Report Posted October 29, 2015 I use to be a gymnast and a cheerleader but now I just do various cardio exercises with weights. I also practice yoga and Tai Chi.
OhioDaddy76 Posted November 3, 2015 Author Report Posted November 3, 2015 Yeah, 10% is always better than 0 right? I'd say that's a healthy attitude, or at least a step in the right direction! I work out every now and then, and I do martial arts. When I get the chance, I also hike mountains nearby my house, like the two times I climbed fuji while in Japan for 3 years How many years did you serve? Thank you for your service! I love hiking. I'm in some prime hiking territory where I live. No real mountains but tons of beautiful rolling foothills covered in old growth forrest. Throw on a backpack and tackle some steep trails and you will get a workout that will leave your legs screaming and your lungs wishing they could pop out of your chest! I use to be a gymnast and a cheerleader but now I just do various cardio exercises with weights. I also practice yoga and Tai Chi. I used to do yoga on a regular basis a few years back. I loved it, but the class was not held at a great time for me and ultimately life crept in. The flexibility benefits were great but my favorite part was the meditation they did for the last 5-10 minutes of each class. I swear I felt more rested from that little practice than I do from a full night of sleep!
