The Little Things

Daddy and I were cuddled up last night talking about Valentine's day coming up on Sunday and how He, my Wife and I will be celebrating. Well, the discussion turned to the things that we each love most about our relationship and it turns out it's the same sorts of things . . . The little things.

 

It's about Him placing a stuffie in my arms without thinking about it. It's about Me giving Him a shy kiss out of the blue. It's about having a bottle while He strokes my hair or snuggling in His lap and nuzzling sleepily against Him.

 

Certainly trip together and gifts are nice but they aren't even in our top 10 things we love about being together. So, here's to the little things that make a relationship so wonderful, supportive, special and loving.

The little things are often so understated. But they're always the best parts of us. With my last relationship, the thing I loved most about her was the way she pressed my head into her chest, allowing me to feel and hear her heartbeat whenever I was upset or coming out of little space.

 

No amount of gifts, holidays or anything else can ever be as powerful as that in my opinion. And there's always something in any relationship, maybe something so small that you miss it at the time, that has that power.

It really is the little things.  Even on a nice vacation, in fancy places, living the good life for a moment... it's the things like the way her hair feels to stroke, how she looks climbing into bed in her little nighty with her stuffie.  And how she feels against me, always.

 

Those are the things that give the most pleasure, and the most peace.

This makes me so happy to read. It is about the little things that you can appreciate. Not the stuff that you get or happens. Like you said that's nice but it's about the small things that matter and make you smile.
