How do I explain "headspace" to Daddy?

We are both new to this. Well I've always been little but now we have a name for it and he is trying to learn more and take on the daddy role I'm not sure how to explain to him. Example- I was very emotional and needy/clingy recently because I was not feeling well. He was asking me to talk to him and tell him why I was crying. I really didn't know- I told him I didn't know. He was frustrated and said that didn't make sense. And I was just in a zone where I needed to cry and I couldn't articulate. I've tried to explain headspace and I don't know how.

It's going to have to be a serious talk that you have when you're not in your little space.

In essence, you can explain that your little space is a side of you that you embrace to feel "little". In essence, you adopt the attitude and mindset of a younger person to articulate your stronger feelings (sadness, happiness, etc). You can point out to your Daddy that when you were crying and didn't know why, you were feeling different than you would normally. In essence, the feelings you had were "triggering" a regression that you needed to just be cared for. If you only feel sadness during these times, it would be a good idea to say "the next time I'm feeling sad, I would like to just have you comfort me. I don't have any particular reason for feeling sad, but I do want to know that you care about me".

When your mind is not in that space, tell him what you need when you do start feeling that way. When I'm not feeling well, I tell my Daddy, "Daddy, I'm not feeling well. I need cuddles and kisses." It can be as simple as that and you should probably explain to him that it's part of your little side and that your little side needs to be comforted.
