How to dress like a little in public?

Hiya guys! So I am a Little  and both here at college and back home, being a Little is looked down on and considered taboo. In fact here on campus we have a dress code- skirt below the knee, not too tight, and the shirts can't show any cleavage.

So I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how maybe I could dress like a Little, or wear something that kinda helps me to feel like my little side is still there even when I have to be big me.

Thanks so much for your help!

I know when I'm at work or school, I wear cute accessories and lip gloss, occasionally a shimmery eye shadow. If im wearing a skirt, I wear thigh highs, knee highs, or even some cute tights. I have this one pair of tights that has cat faces up to the knees! Ooh! Maybe you could put some cute pins on your bag! Having a dress code sucks but little things like accessories can help you feel little.

Yeah!! Being a Stealth Little is sooo fun!  Here's what I do:  I wear ruffley or fun mismatched sockies.  I wear Doc Martin T Strap shoes.  I have a cute, little lotion bottle with sweeties on it from Claire's that attaches to my purse, and has hand santitzer in it.  I like to wear cute face masks.  Instead of a bow in my hair, I like to wear a flower.  You can still have pretty skirts, even if they are below the knee!  Amazon has some really nice cirlce skirts that have fun prints on them..check out the brand Hell Bunny!  I love cottage core fashion, and I think it is less likely to stand out to others as "little"  than the pastel or Lolita look.

I'd say go for a jumper that hangs below the knees, or you could wear cute regular-neck t-shirts with hearts or unicorns or dinosaurs or whatever you're into. If you're looking for more "fancy-cute" you could look up lolita fashion for ideas. Actual lolita fashion is probably too much for more conservative areas, but you can just get an idea of what can be done with frills and ruffles and lace and find stuff that resembles a more toned-down version of that - think poodle skirt and shirts/dresses with the cute white rounded collar :)

Hey amber! Umm I dress a lot of different ways in public and out but rn is a great time to mix in a little "acceptable" little in your daily fashion. I wear a lot of dainty tanktops/camis layered over turtle necks, pastel colors are really popular rn. I love overalls and overall dresses. hair clips are really popular rn and make me feel little, along with scrunchies and paded headbands. layering oversized crewnecks over tennis skirts is cute, affordable and also makes me feel little. Anyways soooo many options feel free to msg me. I would suggest making a pinterest and just looking at "soft-girl aesthetic" see if thats something you're comfortable with as thats my main 'aesthetic' rn.

I’m not sure why dress code (the cleavage part anyways) matters much. As a middle tomboy , I prefer to dress more modestly. There are times when I dress more cheeky , but always prefer modesty as it’s more childlike than having everything on show.. if that makes sense ?

My entire wardrobe is “little” clothes. I’m blessed to have a job where I’m allowed to wear whatever I want within socially acceptable reason. My outfits usually depend on the season.

Spring / Summer :

Oversized men shirts that fit like dresses with boy boxers or panties underneath and calve socks.

Overalls or overall shorts , Tshirts (specifically vans brand) , tank tops , crop tops with funny graphics.

Boy shorts (like hiking shorts?) with tshirts.

Oversized band tee with comfy shorts and tennis shoes.

Skirt with boxers and baggy tshirt with sneakers.

Fall / Winter :

Turtle necks with overalls.

Leggings with long sleeves and puffy vest.

Really baggy tie dye sweats with baggy sweaters and beanies.

Baggy sweats with boxers and oversized men shirt cut into crop top.

Skinny jeans with vans and some sort of rollerblade or skateboarding brand hoodie.

Either season could be a combination or mixture of any of these. I basically dress like a moody teenager from the 90s. Most people wouldn’t guess my real age and just assume what I choose to wear is normal. I feel like the only things that stand out in public as Ddlg are overly sexualized outfits that many younger people wear on Tiktok for example.

There's lots of things I wear that can make me feel little, although it's mostly a mindset for me and not so much dependent on my clothes. I put my hair in pigtails with cute ribbons on the ends, I wear cute tights, I wear some of my old t-shirts I've actually had since I was a kid. I don't need extra cutesy stuff, but plain shirts and comfy pants that I can move around loosely in is good. Pants or dresses with pockets are great so I don't need to carry a purse. And speaking of purses, I use a Vera Bradley one which is highly regarded and popular but has cute colorful patterns. They can be expensive if you buy straight from their site, but they can be easily found on eBay or in thrift shops since many people trade out their old ones for new patterns.

I also have a special teacup/teapot necklace I found on etsy. Of course that's more particular to me, but if you can find a piece of jewelry that means something special to you that reminds you of your littleness, it can help. Perhaps a teddy bear necklace or flowers or an angel as general examples. There are also necklaces that have mini book pendants and the book options vary widely but include child favorites like Winnie the Pooh, the Secret Garden, and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I've seen hundreds of different ones so if you like children's literature try to find your favorite.

The only stuff that I have trouble feeling little in is very formal clothes, especially ones that restrict movement like tight skirts or blazers that you can't lift your arms up too high in. I value free movement as a little :) But I almost never have to wear stuff like that and I always try alternatives if possible.

Since I'm 32 irl, I have to be more careful and be age appropriate. So for me it's about accessories. Sometimes I'll put my hair in a pony tail and tie a ribbon around the ponytail holder, wear a patterned scrunchie, wear a choker necklace, or put a cute hair clip in. Sometimes when I'm out running errands I'll put my hair in pigtails. In terms of clothing? I have some cute tshirts that could be interpreted as little, but to most they're just a regular Disney princess t-shirt. It's overall pretty subtle and low key. My kink friends are well aware that I'm a middle are like, "oh, she's expressing her little side." My vanilla friends (a small select few know I'm kinky, but don't know the specific things I'm into) and family just assume I'm keeping it casual and low key. That's how most strangers see it as well. Also, funny enough I get a lot of compliments on the little touches to an outfit from almost everyone.

Littles I know with younger irl ages yet still 18+? They wear cute skirts, knee highs, overalls, and things like that. They look great in the outfits and no one assumes one way or another because of the overall style in the age group. So there is a lot more freedom to express your little side when out in the vanilla world than for me. Seriously, imo they look adorable, and vanilla people are none the wiser. I hope this is helpful!

I like dressing be subtly little. Bows and hair excsories like headbands. Also cutesy colors, pastels are my go too. I love cute socks! Anything with hearts make me feel little same for rainbows or unicorns. Disney is acceptable to the general public but definitely makes me feel super little so anything Disney related is great. Also just ruffles and girly stuff. I actually always wear skirts due to church, so if you ever wanna talk more and see some of my outfits I'd love too!
