Those are really cute ideas! S

omething I have done for my boyfriend that he found really touching was 52 reasons why I love you cards (pinterest has a lot of variations you can look at). You take a deck of cards (or you can use index cards or even cardstock) and on each card you write down a reason why you love the person. Some people punch a hole in the cards & use a keyring or string to keep them altogether like a book.

You can be really simple with it and just write the things on the cards in sharpie marker, or you can decorate each card with other papers, printed out pictures, little doodles, etc. I saw a really cute one recently (I think on pinterest) where they took thicker cardstock and make a cover and then covered it with felt, then they stitched on two little felt people who were holding hands. It was really cute, but obviously looked like it took a lot of work to make!

It's a really fun & sweet idea, and you can alter it to suit your needs. Maybe you could write down reasons why he is such a good daddy as well on the cards. :) Or the things he does that makes you feel little, etc.

One way to help you decide on a gift for your Daddy, is to think about what your Daddy's love language is! There are five love languages, according to author Gary Smally.

  • Gifts
  • Touch
  • Words of affirmation
  • Time spent together
  • Acts of service
Although all of these are probably enjoyed and appreciated by your Daddy, there will be ONE that stands out to you, as the one way that makes him feel the VERY MOSTEST LOVED!

It kind of sounds like maybe gifts aren't his love language, since he doesn't want you to buy him anything.

Here are some ideas for the other four love languages:

Touch: How about a nice massage?

Words of affirmation: Make a card, or write a letter telling him all the reasons why he is the best Daddy in the world, and why you love him soooo much!

Time spent together: Play a game, go for a walk, go camping indoors...anything that ensures that he will have your undivided attention!

Acts of service: Cook a special meal for him while he watches. Or have him sit down and relax while you serve him a yummy desert. Or maybe put on one of his favorite movies or t.v. shows and bring him a tray of snacks, coffee, tea, etc!

The fun thing is, all the above ideas overlap into other love languages! If you prepare the meal for him and then you sit down and eat together, and you tell him how much you love and appreciate him, you are taking care of three love languages at once!

Hope he has a great Birthday, and that you have lots of fun together!

Oh! By the way, I loved all your gift ideas!!  Also, I didn't know if your relationship is long distance or not.  So my examples and ideas may not work this time.  But you can still come up with your own ideas based on your Daddy's love language, and it is nice to spend time thinking about him and pondering what makes him feel the most loved.  You may find that you grow to know and understand him better through thinking about it!

Love and hugs!

Hewo raindoesprinkles me and Daddy's love language are both quality time and we're ldr so I'm planning on video calling him the whole day! Maybe we'll both watch a movie he really likes together or play a game together.

But I also wanna give him something he can keep. I really really wanna make it super special for him.

Thank you for your suggestions ~♥~

I might do a smol birthday cake for him and sing him happy birthday and let him blow a candle (≧∇≦)

I love baking but Ive never baked a cake before and I can't go out to buy supplies, we're under enhanced community quarantine where I live... So I might just buy cupcakes and we can eat it together

I love those cute ideas :3 my daddy’s birthday is coming up about the next time we are meeting so I’m gonna fill up his room with balloons, make him his favorite cake (even though I’m not good at baking but I think he will appreciate it anyways), make him drawings, a personalized mug as you said because he loves his yucky coffee xD also my favorite stuffs animal is a huge panda called pan-chan and he loves her too :3 so my plan is to buy him a small version of her so when I’m gone he can cuddle her and think of me :3 because we are in a ldr... I’m also gonna make him perler bead creations, like a coaster and stuff.. hope this helped, I’m sure he will be happy with whatever you do for him :3

Aw your welcome!! Quality time is my love language too! I feel very loved when given a handmade gift, because the person put their time and love into it. I bet anything you make for him will speak to him in his love language across the miles! A video call sounds like a great idea too! Yay!!
