Baby Bunny Boo Posted June 10, 2020 Report Posted June 10, 2020 Does anybody know much about root rot. I have a lithrdora flower that im trying to nurse back to health but it looks like its turning all brown. Im watering it and giving it as much sun as i can but its getting worse.
Satan Posted June 10, 2020 Report Posted June 10, 2020 (edited) Transplant it to a bigger pot with lots of room. Make sure to lose the root ball when moving it to the new pot. If it's root rot the roots are suffocating in a pot that's too small for it. Also make sure the new pot has good drainage so the water is not sitting at the bottom of the pot. LittleCinder Posted June 10, 2020 Report Posted June 10, 2020 Also try not to water it too much! A good rule of thumb for plants is wait until the top of the soil is dry, then water until it just starts to seep out of the pot. Unless it's in a really hot area you shouldn't have to water more than once a week. I used to kill a lot of plants because I gave them too much love LOL overwatering was my cause of root rot! I didn't want them to be thirsty or feel abandoned. Good luck! 2
Leo_Ascendent Posted June 11, 2020 Report Posted June 11, 2020 You can put rocks on the bottom of the planter too, helps create drainage and helps keep roots from soaking in excess water. 1
