I want to paint my dinos

I think my daddy is testing me. We have been in lockdown since March, really sucky times. Before lockdown one of my special outings daddy would take me on was a day painting at the Clay Cafe. In April daddy bought me 2 dino paint kits cause the cafe is shutdown till this is over. He put them in the closet. Last year one of the people helping my daddy with me told him to withhold stuff from me to make me ask, I can't ask for things. I've been extra good, done everything I can think of to hint I want them, but still nothing, 2 months now, I really want them. These are history making hard times, I don't think now is the time to start taking advice and withholding from me. I've tried a few times to ask, but then get scared, and lose my voice, so can't get the words out, and go back to quietly watching TV. Just give me my dinos.... On a plus, I snuck a box of my granola into the cart yesterday, and daddy didn't make me put them back, YaY!!!!! Do you think now is the time to be testing stuff? Do you think daddy is testing me, or just forgot they are there?

He probably forgot all about them. Either way, just ask him straightforward if you can have those. I get that you're saying "you can't"- but you can. Overcome it for the dinos or accept you won't get them.

You could try asking "I was wondering if maybe I could have one of my dino painting kits the next time I get rewarded for doing good jobs." or something like that.

Thank you for your input. I will never overcome it, I developed selective mutism when I was 4, so as stated I lose my voice and can't ask. I don't get rewards, my reward is daddy being happy with me for being good. I did get my dinos this morning, daddy had forgot they were there, so we are going to paint them tomorrow, cause I will need down time after cooking all day, and making icecream cake, my recipe for a chocolate middle disc is better then DQ. Daddy saw this post, I forgot he joined to keep an eye on me, and so people can message him if I confuse them, cause I confuse people a lot, and if I need his help reading something, so he can go see, cause I tend to read things the wrong way, and cry cause I misinterpreted something, like your comment "Overcome it for the dinos or accept you won't get them", came of as mean, and the classic 'just get over it', in my mind, but daddy reassured me it wasn't ment like that. Sorry
