A new home for Hubs and me!!

We've been sad lately, being tenants of my brother, when he announced that he wanted to sell the house. In order for him to put it up on the market, we have to move.

We found a two bedroom apartment nearby, although it's smaller and more expensive, it comes with a lot more freedom to practice littlespace without being discovered. Hubs and i agreed we'd do a collaborated game room, both of us being gamers. This room would be where we spend most of our time, either alone or with our friends. Since i'm a little and he's a middle, we both agreed it would have subtle littlespace details, with more obvious detail in our bedroom.

i was so happy when he said he'd finally get into middlespace in this new place, he's never really let go of his anxiety. Needless to say, we're both really excited to decorate this room together. It's something we've never done before. We're leaning towards retro 90s (i cringed at the use of retro) because we were kids/teens in the 90s. So stuff like nickelodeon colors and retro gaming consoles mixed with new stuff. He wants to paint the walls pumpkin..he loves orange lol. i'd rather have more colors like pink and purple and blue, but those colors will go fine with orange. i'm looking forward to making a PILE of pillows in one corner of the room, maybe for a pillow fort or naptime.

i was looking for more inspiration to decorate a room for middles, but more importantly, maybe little-friendly storage ideas, because this place is pretty small.

Congrats! that sounds like fun! will you be moving your own furniture or will you have to buy?

about the storage ideas:

  1. Toy hammock for storage/display of plushies,
  2. Storage bench, get one that can double as a coffee table when you are sitting on the floor,
  3. Over the door shoe rack (it doesn't have to be shoes!),
  4. Don't forget to use under the bed if you have room,
  5. Peg board in the closet and/or collapsible hangers.

I like using floorplanner before I move to get an idea of what will go where, you don't need exact measurements but that might be the old architecture student in me talking... I have lots of experience living in small spaces, it's a fun challenge.

We're getting rid of a lot of furniture, but keeping the essential like our couch and bed and the chairs. We're looking to buy things like fluffy rugs and storage containers but not really more pieces of furniture. I want to toss the boxspring in favor of a stand that will create under the bed storage, but that's all i have in mind. Thanks for the ideas, I will definitely be using them!
