Advice for making changes special

I have noticed that diaper changes are becoming too routine. Any tips on making diaper changes more special or comforting? We use a pull up style diaper, so its hard to powder her before putting it on. Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Hmmm, I never really thought about it but now that I do it's really just the way he's spontaneous and loving and caring. He changes things up constantly in little ways, it could be surprise kisses on the nose, pats on the bum once I'm diapered, playing peek a boo, giving me a paci or bottle, tickling me with a stuffie.

Never knowing what he's going to do but always knowing it comes from a place of unconditional love makes each and every change special and an emotional bonding experience. I guess my suggestion is dont worry so much about finding specific actions but rather focus on your little and your bond with her and what makes it unique and special.

As Kaiya suggests, focus on your little, and not the diaper itself. Is this a worry that only you have had, or was it raised by your little? While I personally like changing things up too, for some, routine can be comforting and serve its own role in the context of the relationship (i.e. ritualistically demonstrating your Daddy/girl relationship).

Of course, if the process doesn't amount to much more than pulling on a pair of pants (albeit childish ones), there's definitely room for a bit more! For instance, baby wipes can (and perhaps should!) still be used. And even if spurting powder is impractical, you might consider getting a type of potted powder that's applied by dabbing on with a cotton pad - or consider applying nappy cream, etc. Then, there's also the suggestion to perhaps also use alternative more babyish diapers than just pull-ups (particularly if, say, for overnight) - just for a change in pace - even if you still use pull-ups most of the time!
