Little space on a budget

Recommended Posts

I'm new to being a little, so i have been doing a lot of research and watching other littles. I have seen a lot of things i would love to have, that would really help me feel comfortable in my little space. However, at the moment I can't really afford them. I don't have extra money for stuffies, sippy cups, blankies, cute clothes, and stuff like that.. How can i still feel comfortable in my little space until i can make enough money to get the things i want?

Some things I like to do to get into little space or to be comfortable in my little space is watch kids shows and LOTS of Disney movies. You could also do your hair in some super, duper cute way! I know places like dollar tree/general or such has sippies and some stuffies that aren't so expensive! I have gotten some from places like that and they work just the same as the more expensive ones from other stores! I hope my advice helps you out! ^_ ^

Hmmmm if you're able to, I would make your room, or closet, somewhere you're comfortable doing this with- make that a space for you to be and feel little. Decorate it with piccyrures that you draw, print from online, photographs. If you have any stuffies or dolls or other things that make you feel little, try putting them all out on display. If you go to a fabric store, they usually have clearance bins of fabric. If you want a cute cheap blankie,I suggest finding a super cute fleece in the clearance bin! They dont fray, so you don't have to sew it or anything. ^^ I've found super cute stuff, like donut, or cat prints in the clearance bin. For things like pacis and sippycups, I dont know if you have a dollar tree where you live, but you could go to a dollar store and get some temporary ones from there. ^^ as far as clothes go, that's a bit of a challenge if you cant make them yourself with recycled material. But there's always thrift stores, second-hand shops! Where I live there's a place called Plato's Closet, it's my fave. ^^ I'm pretty sure you can get cheap body suits from online. They're kinda onsie like. And wearing a tutu over that seems so sweet. C: oh! Also my favorite thing to do is search for lace in the clearance section at a fabric store, or thrift store, even antique stores. I have a stash. x3 Then when you go to a thrift store, look for clothes and just focus on the basics, like the shape, how it fits, the color, because I like to buy those super cheap, then add lace/buttons/ribbon myself. ^^ get some thrifted ribbon to make cute necklaces too! Or thrifted beads those are fun to make jewelry with. :D If I think of more ideas I will lot you know! Check out Yumi King on YouTube. :] she has a bunch of tutorials

One of the things I've done in the past and loved when I couldn't afford any stuffies. Go to a thrift shop or something similar. Find some soft or fuzzy material you really like. And fold the fabric in half. Cut out a simple teddy bear pattern you like and draw it on the fabric. Take a needle and thread and stitch along the sides. Stuff it with some pillow stuffing from an old pillow you don't use anymore or use cloth rags from clothes you don't wear. And then stitch the hole you used shut. Sew on a couple buttons for eyes or just do a few straight stitches side by side. Or you can even draw the eyes on! And stitch in a smile or draw it. I used permanent marker to draw the eyes and face on the ones I've made. And if you don't feel like it, you don't even have to have a face on the teddy or whatever animal you decide on! You can even make shaped stuffies with that method.

Some other things that helped me feel little when I didn't have access to money for things. Instead of having a sippy cup, I took a mason jar and made a hole in the center of the lid and used a straw in that for a makeshift sippy! I suck my thumb as I've never had a paci till recently and I think I still prefer to suck my thumb instead. Cartoons or whatever kinda shows/movies that help you feel smol. Books, maybe look up some stories on Wattpad or other sites where people right stories and stuff. For clothes and accessories, look up youtube tutorials on how to repurpose old ugly shirts into cute new ones! One way is cutting the back of a shirt twice the same length across with about 2 inches of cloth in between. Bunch up the cloth in the middle of the two cuts and rap thread around the center of it where it's bunched and tie the thread and you'll have a cute little bow in the back of an old shirt! You can even cut small strips along the edges of the shirt and tie knots that the top of the strips where they meet the shirt to make some cute tassels too!

Check out kids books from the library! They sometimes also have booklets to color in. And you can check out movies!

I've been thinking about looking for stuff for little space at the dollar store and i was thinking stickers, stuffies, coloring books and stuff like that. I know I can't use pacis from there but what about sippy cups? Any other ideas for little space stuffs you can get at the dollar store?

Go to the toy section and pick out whatever toys you like the idea of. For me its dinosaurs. Get used to spray-paint! You can even spray-paint small things in a cardboard box if you're worried about a mess. Paint it the color you love! tie ribbons around it or give it a cool mustache :D They also normally have some cute stuffies! You can always make them clothes if you YouTube some easy doll clothes. ^^ I like to go to Dollar Tree. So im not sure about other stores. But at Dollar Tree they have really really cute wall decals! You can of course stick them on youre wall. But I think for people who arent super artsy, maybe they dont feel like they are good at drawing and stuff, you can make a bit easier art with them! get a cheap frame from the same store, and stick those stickers where ever you want. Then put the frame over it! I would also get some cheap flowers and maybe glue them around the frame. Ive also seen super cute mirrors where people frame them with dollar store flowers! ^^

Get paper cups and string and make "telephones" with them! And bubbles! Coloring books/crayons are a good idea.

Also, if you're on a budget, you can check out local thrift shops. Many have cheap children's books, lots of stuffies (many can be washed), baby blankets, etc.

I've gotten lots of little things at Dollar Tree!

They have a good selection of kid's story books, coloring books, craft supplies -- I've gotten finger paints, modeling clay, play-doh (they often have the name brand, but the cheap off-brand 4 pack is pretty decent quality too) -- slime, puzzles, squishies, and various toys! If you're into teethers, they have those, too. They also have decent bath bombs, bubble bath, bath toys, cute animal shaped loofahs and the puppet-type washcloths for bath time.

As far as sippies go, I have a pink kitty princess sippy from DT. It's decent quality. If you want a sippy, go for it! They also have cute kiddie plates and bowls. :)

I love to get the licensed character cups at Dollar Tree or other Dollar Stores such as the following:

Party decorations make good little space decor. Especially the paper lanterns and stuff that can be folded back up and put away if you need to hide them for guests or fam.

Edit: if you decide to get anything can you post pics? o:

I’m sure a lot of us would love to see!

I am a big fan of thrift stores! I got my favorite oversized sweater from one! The dollar section at Target is good too! And how about a big batch of homemade playdough?

You can find lots of cheapy stuff on ebay and amazon sometimes. Like they have packs/bundles of toys. Or the party store, like party favor type toys.

Like um... this pack has 12 stuffies for just under $14 on Amazon. They have lots of packs of toys because people use them for parties or claw machine/prize machines so they come in a big pack cheap. (this is an example)

https://www.amazon.com/Prefilled-Keychain-Decoration-Stuffers-Classroom/dp/B083SCJD7T/

But yeah you can get lots of cool vintage stuff on Etsy and Ebay like books, toys, whatever you want!

8 vintage My Little Ponies plus their accessories on ebay (example):

Just look up "toy bundle" on ebay you'll find so many!

Also like others said... thrift shop, garage sale, etc. Craigslist also has lots of cheap toys and sometimes free just be safe when you pick them up!

Oh yeah and kids meals like at McDonald's the Happy Meal is pretty cheap and nice to treat yourself.

If you have a printer there's lots of coloring pages online for free or you can buy downloadable ones on sites like Etsy.
