EvieTheOne Posted February 14, 2020 Report Posted February 14, 2020 (edited) I actually don't think you can live life without compromise, without sacrifice, even, without not getting, not achieving everything you've set out to achieve and somehow making peace with your past, with your life, transforming every loss, or missed opportunity from regret to a sense of achievement, whereby sometimes achievement translates as a singular horrible moment that you have survived, and are here, at the end of the road, on your deathbed, content with who you have become and the legacy of love you leave behind. That's what Erickson's called ego integrity (vs ego despair). I don't think you can speak of love, as to project the image of its promoter and protector, if you don't understand and are not willing to sacrifice. I'm sorry, this is the big news. Hedonism is not love. Universal love, as it's understood and practiced today, is not love, or lemme be fair, it's not love to me, and I've contrasted ideologies, philosophies, religions and magic, to get to the conclusion that Your way is a wonderful way because keeps you happy in your folly, and mine is the same, because it keeps me happy in mine. So go, fly, search, and find that which feels home, that which feels love, and where your soul can finally rest, and I shall do the same, in My direction.
