Collars, collaring, and what do you do if your both switches?

Its only been two days and one night, but recently my Necklace from my Alpha broke. It's an easy fix but will take a while since my mom has to find the tools to do so. This Necklace was the first present he ever gave me in our relationship, for someone who wasn't much of a jewlery girl I wore it relgiously for all these three years making it part of when I wake up (glasses then reach for necklace) before anything else even if I'm home alone all day I have to have it on.

 

At times I'll even go to fiddle with it and panic when its not there and can't find it in its usual spots. There have only been a handful of times (forgetfulness, being locked out of my hotel room, and now this) where I haven't had it on and this is the first time in the three years that I've gone a full 48 hours with out it on.  I feel so lost with out it even though its just sitting in its box next to my bed safe.

 

My Alpha said perhaps he will get us new matching ones since the chain on his broke about a year back or so (he still has the charm that matches mine thank goodness) So I was thinking about Day collars but have so many questions

 

1. are they safe to sleep with on?

 

2. what about getting wet (ie showering)

 

3. is there something he could get too to match mine or something?

 

I also havn't been a sub that long eaither and don't want to get something I haven't 100% rightfully earned at the same time it will still be two years before he and I can move in together.

 

Advice? links? Collaring stories?

Should I wait or stop looking into day collars since I'm such a newbi?

 

Any and all help is appreachated I just hate feeling so disconnected

Depending on what your definition of a day collar is, to me they're generally easily removable discreet ribbon collars, I actually have an etsy shop selling them heheh...

Of course there are many different styles of collars and options on etsy, and I must admit I've had my eye on a locking bracelet/key necklace set on KittensPlayPen...But I'm not sure how suitable this set would be for a relationship with two switches? For my ribbon collars, they're a simple bow closure so they're adjustable to whatever size and easily removable for showering and sleeping if wanted. I've slept in mine a few times without any problems, and mine are fine with water. IF you wanted, I could experiment with a thinner bracelet version for free as a sample product - I've been meaning to come up with a matching idea anyways, so any ideas you have would be greatly appreciated!

I've never explored the matching idea before - maybe a chain necklace with a little matching ribbon pendant? We'll definitely need to figure out an idea! Thanks!
