Guest xrocketpup Posted January 6, 2020 Report Posted January 6, 2020 I am new to the DL of ABDL. I am very new to this whole world, and I am trying to figure out what works for me. Currently I am using Equate "Assurance" Underwear for incontinent adults, which can be found at Walmart in the medical section. I have tried another brand, just to try. They were a little big for me, but they worked well and to my surprise (despite being a tad too big) I don't recall many leaks. I believe they were the Prevail brand. I have purchased two washable cloth diapers, and that is what started this whole thing. But I haven't messed in them, I liked the feeling, but I knew as soon as I messed (in any fashion) my laundry was going to be more frequent! But I do enjoy wearing the washables on the outside of the pull-ups. I also get an extra sense of protection, which is really important to me. I am enjoying wetting, just not enjoying the leaks. Any advice would be helpful! My question is, which diapers do you suggest? I have been getting into the rhythm of wetting when I wake up in the morning, but have found that I am leaking to the sides of my pull-up style. Am I using them wrong? If I were to move to diapers, which would you suggest, and would they have absorbency to capture leaks through the hip/waistline? TIA
AttendingBear Posted January 6, 2020 Report Posted January 6, 2020 Honestly, search for "ABDL" on amazon, you will find a thousand. You can also use a plastic protector to keep it together. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=abdl+diapers&ref=nb_sb_noss_2
Guest xrocketpup Posted January 6, 2020 Report Posted January 6, 2020 >To Attender: I have done that, and much to my chagrin, I am overwhelmed. I am trying to seek opinions on what others have used, and upon their discoveries and what works for them, in turn, find what works for me.
AttendingBear Posted January 6, 2020 Report Posted January 6, 2020 Northshore is a very good brand, and anything from littleforbig is also good, You could also get pads to help keep wetting contained. Tab based seem like they are the best.
Little kaiya Posted January 6, 2020 Report Posted January 6, 2020 As a long time ABDL, and someone whose Daddy keeps them in diapers a lot, the first suggestion I would offer is het rid of the pull ups. They are more manufactured for light wetting and wont do well for much more. The two brands you mentioned also aren't great to be honest. Very little, none in my opinion, of what you're going to find at Walmart is even remotely decent. As for going with a tape style diaper, well a lot depends on your measurements, sleeping style and style preferences regarding white vs. design. Personally my Daddy keeps me in Rearz Princess and ABU Pawz diapers. It's about fit, design and thickness for us. Depending on where you live I may be able to offer some store suggestions but if you need to order online then buying a multi diaper sample pack is a great idea. A bit pricier to start but worth finding something you like.

So, going to pull-up styles helped both of us acquire that "I can't wait to grow up" feeling which helped him in his role. I am tempted to purchase a couple of sample packs. I am unsure though, I was using pull-ups until I was 12, I don't recall the size... But I am just trying to explore. I'll check out those samples. If anyone has more advice/ input, please share! I want to get lots of opinions so I can have an easier time navigating.
Looveruk Posted January 8, 2020 Report Posted January 8, 2020 Hello there, I have had previous experience in putting my littles into nappies. We found Bambino’s to be a good balance between cuteness and leak protection. But Rearz as mentioned above are nice. As to leaks are you male or female? If male make sure bits are pointed downwards :-) Also make sure your leg leak guards are snug and uncreased on your inner leg.
Guest xrocketpup Posted January 8, 2020 Report Posted January 8, 2020 Thanks for the advice Looveruk! I am a girl. I have 2 washable Rearz nappies that I wear over the Assurance brand when i am home. I've been using them just about 24/7. I have only pee'd in them. I do not have a CG to help me so, I do what's comfortable. I push my own boundaries daily... With this whole thing it's easier for me to just jump in. I am thinking about packing a spare pair of pants with me to work I case I leak. I wanna use them while on the clock. I usually can wet around lunch time and then change while on break. My Daddy who lives a couple hours away struggles with diapers. He doesn't know his role in all this, and so going to a pull up style helped him mentally. Idk what to do. I'm thinking of getting some sample packs and trying them out. But idk how to feel on it all.
BabyDaisy81 Posted January 10, 2020 Report Posted January 10, 2020 Is it just the washing with the reusable nappies?? Because disposables take a long time to break down and stay in landfill for centuries.. I'm planning on washable ones for night time as it's a time where I might not wake up (my bladder nerves are broken ) and being in big girl knickers during the day..
Guest xrocketpup Posted January 10, 2020 Report Posted January 10, 2020 There is a lot more to it, baby daisy. there is the combo of odor control, leaks, and obsorbancy to worry about. And Since I wear at work, too, that is a major issue.
Davey pooh Posted January 11, 2020 Report Posted January 11, 2020 Reply to the diaper pull-up question I've not wire diapers yet but I'm sure that they would be better than pull ups itoo just wear the pull ups but I don't wet them while I'm in bed except once when I put a trash bag under me

There are soft vinyl pants that keep odour in but I found that the modern ones don’t smell..

I mean depends pull ups hold abou 700 mls and they are really a pretty low end product. Did you maybe mean 3600? Which is still significantly lower than a lot if premium AB diapers.

My mistake, it was 3650mL or about fourteen cups full.. The usual volume of urination in 24 hours is between 800 and 2000mL so unless a person has polyuria these things have great absorbency..
BabyDaisy81 Posted January 13, 2020 Report Posted January 13, 2020 well thats rather oldschool My daddy is old school and he thinks I would look cute in them.. Also when taking into account the manufacturing of disposables and the fact that I’d have to keep getting them it’s not sustainable for the planet and washing is no big deal since I poo in the toilet.. I got my number wrong too.. It’s 3650mL and the average adult does between 800 and 2000mL of wee per day.. I would change if I wet them during the day if I was wearing them but day time means toilet time..
