Yes, I have trouble getting to sleep when Daddy isn't with me, and sometimes when he is with me. When he's away, it helps that he gives me a bedtime and I earn points for keeping it. If I'm having trouble going to sleep I'll tell him and he will tell me in his serious Daddy voice that it's my bedtime and to go to sleep--that helps. When we're together, he will pull me close and tell me that I need to stop thinking or messing around or whatever and go to sleep right now. Sometimes he'll sing me a song.

I can only go go sleep easily if I have cried that day, just being honest. I feel like all the sadness wears me out and then I can sleep, but otherwise it's impossible. I try tea, warm milk, melatonin, quiet music, anything I can think of. Yet little to no help. I also sleep well if I have a friend over or am at a friend's house, even if we don't share a bed. Then the night after I have a friend over is extra hard because I feel all empty and lonely. What helps you sleep and what can I do as a single little to help me sleep?

I have trouble sleeping with or without Daddy, but each has its own reason. I can't sleep without Daddy cause I get real bad anxiety and snuggling with him is very helpful to me. I'm looking into making a weighted blanket for myself. I understand they're very calming. Sometimes the anxiety gets so bad I lay on my tummy and ball up my fists so they're pressing on my sternum, or I dig the heel of my hand into it and that usually helps me get to sleep when I'm anxious. I don't know why, but it does.

Sometimes I'm not nervous, just lonely, and usually pulling my hair or rubbing my forehead helps. Daddy got me a big cuddly stuffie for Christmas that he put his cologne on with the hope it would help me sleep without him. I'm going to try it tonight and hopefully it helps.

When Daddy DOES sleep over, sometimes I can't sleep because he grinds his teeth and it hurts my ears. Usually I just hit and yell at him and he stops long enough for me to get to sleep though :p

I need to get in bed by a certain time because insomnia can keep me awake for hours. So I will lay in bed snugging into my stuffies or read a book. Reading always calms me.<3

Anyone else have problems going to sleep at night??

I've been unable to fall asleep until about 4am the past week or so. I then end up sleeping until 2pm, missing half of my day, and feeling groggy. It's killing me D:

Ive been having trouble sleeping lately as well, even tho i get to be with my man almost every night... i think part of it is just that I've always been a night owl, part of it is uncertainty for my future because I still don't have a job that I am really happy with, and as of the past week or so I've just realized I need to be a Little, so all the thoughts of transitioning, asking my man to be my Daddy, etc. are DEFINITELY keeping me awake!! I have literally spent the past week online every night til 4am, reading, posting, joining groups in the hope that I will finally figure myself out and have a future to look forward to... I live in Colorado, so thankfully I have easy (legal) access to marijuana which really helps me sleep, but my man does not like that and doesn't want me to become dependent. Sometimes I watch my favorite kid movies like Despicable Me, Fern Gully, or Coraline. Sometimes I read a boring book. And sometimes I just lay there in the dark repeating "go to sleep, go to sleep" over and over again... I don't have a particular fail-proof method of helping with this, although I will say that turning off my phone really helps. If it's off completely then i have no need to wonder about what's happening on my games, who replied to my posts, if my sweetie might call me, and the list goes on of distractions that might normally keep me from sleeping. As far as anxiety goes, I have not had any clinical attacks or diagnosis, but I do know that I often have high stress that keeps me from turning my brain off, so to remove that factor, sometimes I will lay in bed and imagine stepping into a hot bath. I imagine every tiny detail first, like what the bathroom looks like (my imaginary bathroom is SO much nicer than the one i use every day!!), candles, scent, lighting, towels, etc... Then I imagine stepping into the bathtub, one toe at a time, and physically/mentally put as much detail and imagination as possible into experiencing the feeling of the hot water on my skin, each millimeter at a time, relaxing the muscles, etc. It often brings me to an almost meditative state, and I never remember the water making it all the way over my head because I always am asleep before it gets there! You really have to put a lot of focus and detail into the imagination though, because otherwise, it happens too fast and your brain doesn't have time to quiet down and allow you to fall asleep... i hope that at least one of these methods works for you at least sometimes, because theres not many things in the world better than a good sleep... and also remember that tomorrow is a new day, so no matter what happened today or yesterday, it becomes part of the past once tomorrow begins :) ~*hugs to all*~ xoxo

It would have to be a really boring book to make me tired because if it is a good book that I really want to find out what happens next I would be up for hours reading until I relive it is like 4 in the morning hehe

That's me as well. Mine is partially due to illness, but I've suffered from insomnia more often than not since I was about 12. So 13 years of it so far. :(

Sometimes I have problems going to sleep too. Which sucks cause I have to be up at 6 am for work.

It does help to have some sort of a routine. Like trying to be in bed by a certain time; I shoot for 10.

It also helps if you work out. but NOT too soon before bed cause then you're all energized.  Id say no closer than 3 hours until bed. that tends to make me very sleepy cause  I used most of my energy.

Also don't consume caffeine up to 5 hours before you want to go to bed. This one has definitely helped me a lot. Along with no caffeine at all throughout the day, or minimal.

Also no phone 30 minutes to an hour before bed. it really helps to not have that stimulation before you need to sleep

Little late to this thread, but I typically go to sleep at around 3-4 am and I've noticed that playing soft, classical piano music helps me, as well as my stuffies... Watching Disney movies helps sometimes, too. <3

I have the hardest time falling asleep and staying asleep. My eyes literally pop open at 3:30 am. Waking at 4:30 feels like a sleep in day. I get to take cat naps during the day, but when I wake up I'm a grumpy girl.

I am the exact same i cannot sleep past 3.30am and get up is 6.00am in this house! By lunch i am sooo tired! I mix some coffee with hot chocolate most days to keep me going! :(

I don't sleep well at all unless J is with me (he doesn't like the term Daddy which is fine as I was never one to say or call anyone "Daddy" even when I was biologically a little child) so J found an app called sleep sound which plays calming sleep music all night which helps, maybe try that...?
