How to unstick lid from sugar jar from tea set?

I have a ceramic hello kitty tea set I got, but when I opened it I found the lid to the sugar jar stuck and I don't know how to get it out, does anyone know how it have any ideas? It's stuck partially inside of the jar and I have a picture attached showing what it looks like.

Soak it in warm water and it will melt the sugar and then you should get the lid off you might have to do pretty hot water

Thank you but it's not stuck from sugar, the lid is stuck partially inside the had (there's a picture attachment if that helps)

Umm, I would first try dipping the whole bowl in some really soapy water and working the lid out. Like super soapy water!

 

I looked it up online that you can try filling something with hot water and sit the sugar pot in the hot water, but fill the inside with cold water or ice. My fear is that it could break with the two different temps, it worth a try I guess.
