Ebay is the place I'd go to look for antiques. They won't be the way you remembered them, but you might get lucky. I used to own a family of Sylvanian grey rabbits. I only have one left now. I live in the US and they were definitely called Sylvanian back in the 80s, now they're calico critters. Blech..

As for the metal top I would try as suggested ebay but also Tin Toy Arcade. They sell a lot of retro metal toys and may have something close to the top you had or you may find something else you have forgotten about.
