Guest kayleexbun Posted November 18, 2019 Report Posted November 18, 2019 (edited) hewwo fellow people i hope this is the right forum to be post this in. i was going to post in little space, but i feel our caregivers especially need to hear this too. Today, I want to remind you to be kind to yourself. Sometimes we give so much to people, but at the end of the day - we have nothing left to give to ourselves. It's so important that we take care of ourselves as well. I've put together a small list of self care activities; I tried to include ideas for both littles and caregivers. ❥ pop your earbuds in, turn on a relaxing playlist, and take a walk ❥ look up pictures of cute bunnies, kittens, and puppies ❥ grab your favorite nap essentials (in my case, my blankie, paci, and stuffed bunny) and take a really long nap ❥ watch asmr videos - i recommend DiamondASMR. she has a "mom series" and it really helps you feel comforted and little ❥ drink warm drinks like hot cocoa, tea, or coffee ❥ take a bath with epsom salt and/or essential oils ❥ cuddle with stuffies (and cry if you need to) - they're very good listeners. ❥ listen to podcats that interest you - my favorite is Nothing Much Happens on Spotify. she tells bedtimes stories where literally, nothing much happens. but they are great stories and she tells them in such a relaxing and comforting way. ❥ watch one of your favorite movies that has a happy ending ❥ journal. here are some prompt ideas: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/12/42/bc/1242bcd4d6d27ec6d517ab848d883e88.jpg That's all for now, feel free to add any more ideas that you may have Edited November 19, 2019 by kayleexbun 2
DaddyRaven Posted November 18, 2019 Report Posted November 18, 2019 wonderful list and a great reminder; especially in our super fast paced world. I'd like to add do a daily meditation session & yoga to help refresh your mind and body. Try something new; don't let fear of failure stand in the way of trying.
Guest Aastyra Posted November 18, 2019 Report Posted November 18, 2019 Good points. It's super important to look after ourselves so we can keep being our best. A few more strategies off the top of my head: Going for a walk Drawing / colouring Stretching Watching nature shows (like Planet Earth) Reading a novel or short story

Guest PinkBaby_Princess Posted November 20, 2019 Report Posted November 20, 2019 (edited) This is a great list! It's always important to take care of yourself. Always take a day or two to focus on yourself. It's not being selfish, self care is giving yourself self love. Everyone needs to do this. Another thing that helps me is being around nature, meditating, holding my crystals since I'm a very spiritual person and just thinking of something positive. I try to focus on that positive thought and surround myself with that very thought. The more I focus on that and deep breathing, I feel completely safe and feel a positive vibe around me. I'm not being preachy here, this is what helps me. Do things that you know will help you. That's the important thing to remember. Edited November 20, 2019 by PinkBaby_Princess
