Feeling safe when watching cartoons

Hopefully this is in the right section.

I identify myself as middle since I act like a teenager. I don't tend to watch cartoons unless it's Spongebob or Courage the Cowardly Dog etc.. even when that's on, I don't watch it all the time.

But I noticed when I feel lost, anxious, lonely or scared  I would like to watch cartoons. Especially at night before going to bed. I don't know why exactly but it makes me feel safe? If that's the right way to say it. It just feels like I don't have to worry about anything when a cartoon show/movie is on. I rarely noticed that about myself but just yesterday when I was watching Hotel Transylvania 2, I felt calm and happy... Overall I was confused on why I felt that way  :s I'm still somewhat new to ddlg, so my apologies if what I'm saying sounds weird.

Does any little's/middle's feel this way about cartoons? Maybe it's more common than what I think, it's just something I'm still learning about myself.

Totally normal! Many littles watch it. I usually see alot of mentions of My Little Pony, for example.

Some watch it - just like you mentioned- when they need some confort, others when they're in little space

Very normal. If it puts you in middle/little space which is a very good thing. Keep doing what you're doing if it feels good. You're not hurting anyone by watching cartoons to chill.

Yeah this is definitely normal uwu Watching cartoons also makes me feel safe and really happy, especially kids movies.

Cartoons I like to watch are Amazing World of Gumball, Spongebob, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and Miraculous lady bug (I need to catch up on this though so no spoilers jioaodsijhsd)

I've been watching Courage the Cowardly Dog, and Spongebob ever since I was a baby. These cartoons make me happiest the most  Even though I watch cartoons that are seen more as for people in the ddlg community as middles, I still identify as a little. Even when I was a little kid I wasn't really a fan of the smaller kids cartoons, I always liked shows that were showing on Cartoon Network and Nick.

I wouldn't say that watching cartoons themselves make me feel safe. Rather it's the association and link to snuggling with my Daddy, laying my head in his lap as he strokes my hair and the way he cuddles me tight. I generally don't watch cartoons alone but prefer to watch them with my Daddy, usually a out 90% of the time.

As a result if he isnt there and I watch cartoons it just takes me to all the times we watch cartoons together and those memories make me feel safe, protected, loved and safe.
