Little can't speak

I suppose I shouldn't be too terribly surprised at this considering there's a streak of autism in my genetics, but my little is, apparently, non-verbal, or finds verbal communication very difficult. Himself offered I come round and get some laundry done as my kitchen has been ripped out for refurb, and one thing eventually led to another. He asked me what I wanted, and I literally couldn't say anything. I giggled and kicked and flailed and hid my face in his chest, but it's like my voice was locked behind my teeth. It's actually really embarrassing and frustrating. I'm considering introducing using my iPad as a communication device when I go non-verbal and I'll have to discuss it with him.  But it's just so weiiiiiird, man.

It's interesting. Whenever I can't talk it's usually if I'm too overwhelmed by an emotion such as a fear or trauma and I do have disability related problems with speech like struggling to so I keep a notepad and pen with me at all times.

I'm not a medical expert by any means but I do wonder if some kind of counselling or therapy may be of use in trying to get to where this problem is as you're not indicating  your Big has this difficulty in everyday interactions.

Counselling and therapy is right out for me, but it's interesting that I'm not the only one who has this issue. I will certainly give it some thought.

ooo there's an idea.  Unfortunately I know American Sign Language, but British Sign Language is completely different! I may have to learn it.  Good idea though, thank you!

Well if you know ASL maybe you can teach a hand full of sings to your big? :)

I found something on tumblr a couple of months ago that went something like this

Me: I'm a strong independent woman and have no problem expressing what I want and need!

Daddy: What is it that you want, baby girl?

Me: Mfhghhmmm
