Why are kittens so contrary?

*nods pleasantly* One moment please!  

 

*Puts a sun hat on her head, takes a shovel, steps out of the library's back door to a path leading to the beach.*

 

*Returns, takes off the hat and puts the obviously used shovel back into the corner; and places an old ice cream display labeled 'cookie cat' carefully onto the counter*

 

  Let's see now..... *Opens the display up, revealing a tiny, gem covered book on the middle shelf. Takes the book out, and turns to the seventh chapter....*

 

"Kittens are contrary because their ancient progenitor, The Mother of All Kittens, who was named 'Mary Mary', was, also, quite contrary!"
