Daddys little Baby_Bear Posted June 7, 2019 Report Posted June 7, 2019 This I just a random true story that I thought was funny enough to share. Please feel free to share any funny stories you have. Although I'm not deaf or mute I am fluent in ASL. I was taught by my mom when I was little just cause. A lot of times I will "think aloud" by signing to myself. One day I was out to dinner with my family and went and got us a table while they ordered. These two girls were sitting at a booth by the one I chose being very loud and obnoxious. I got bored and started signing to myself while waiting and they apparently saw this and thought I was deaf because of it. They then proceeded to begin insulting my clothing and started making fun of me for "being deaf". I just let them keep talking for a while. Eventually one of them said "Omg, look at that hair. Like seriously, she may as well just go shave her head, it would look better." Her and her friend started laughing ( I had a non jelled up mohwak) I turned at looked at them and said, "Yeah, the sides are growing out a bit I should probably get them shaved down again soon." They got very red and flustered and ended up walking out. As they got up to leave I told one of the girls "I like your top!" In an overly sweet way. They still get upset whenever they see me somewhere. I Once again please feel free to share any stories you have 2
Guest Aetherr Posted June 7, 2019 Report Posted June 7, 2019 you should write that story down on r/pettyrevenge on reddit, i think it would fitr there!
Guest Lightofmylife Posted June 7, 2019 Report Posted June 7, 2019 I know they must of been so embarrassed but, hey they shouldn't of judged too quickly.. and it's wrong to talk about someone like that. They probably said things about other people as well. 1
MysticSand Posted June 8, 2019 Report Posted June 8, 2019 Teen girls will be teen girls. (Hopefully they were teens otherwise that'd be extra sad.) Good on you for sticking it to them with kindness!
LittleTeacup Posted June 8, 2019 Report Posted June 8, 2019 I really hope those girls learned from this incident and will think twice before publicly insulting somebody again.... It reminds me of a few years ago when I worked in a retail store and another employee, who happens to be fluent in Russian as well as English, told me these nasty older ladies thought they could get away with loudly insulting the store and employees in the dressing room if they did it in... Russian. So of course when they came out of the dressing room my coworker asked how they were in Russian so they knew she understood everything they said. They left the store in a hurry. 1
Little kaiya Posted June 8, 2019 Report Posted June 8, 2019 People do it up here in French in rural Quebec sometimes with Anglophone visitors. I usually wait before speaking stepping forward and speaking and alternating between French and English. I've just never understood why people think it's ok to do things like that. The fact they think the other person cant understand just makes their actions that much deliberate and worse in my view. Little kaiya 1
