Lilmisstiaa1997 Posted April 1, 2019 Report Posted April 1, 2019 Okay. So come September I am starting back to college on a university course, and Im kind of apprehensive as I know I wont have a lot of time to myself, or with daddy for that matter as its going to be a very challenging course for me that requires A LOT of my attention. I was wondering if anyone can give any tips on how to manage the time/stress in anyway and something that might help me? I also have stress triggered medical conditions which is going to be an extra challenge, but medically, it is being managed, just need to keep the stress down to a minimum. Thanks in advance!
Guest BabyPeach Posted April 1, 2019 Report Posted April 1, 2019 When I was in uni, I had extremely difficult courses (like study all the time courses). What helped me was taking Friday evening off. No school stuff, no studying on Friday evening. That was MY time to do whatever.....a night in, a night out, etc. Just knowing I had that little block of time to unwind and not think about school every week really helped me. 1

Guest ~*~Sachita~*~ Posted April 1, 2019 Report Posted April 1, 2019 Check out this topic by TwilightSparklez, she saved me when I was having the same worries: https://www.ddlgforum.com/topic/24161-being-little-in-college/ For me, the most stress relieving tool I used was a planner. Once I got my syllabi for each semester, I would put down due dates and target dates for progress. For example, if I had an essay due at the end of the semester, I would write in due dates for a rough draft, writing center review, and final edits. That way, I wasn't faced with a snowballing amount of work. It was also helpful for me to schedule time for self care in my planner. It can feel like the only thing you are allowed to do is study, but that has detrimental effects on your stress level. The Resources area has some great self-care tips. You can also search for lists on the internet "self-care ideas". Another helpful tool is to use all of the available campus resources - even if you think you don't need them. Academic advisors, counselors, career centers - they all have useful information. It may seem like you don't need their services, but it relieved my fears that there was something I was supposed to be doing that I wasn't aware of.
