Lolita fashion is so pretty !! Gothic Lolita fit perferctly with who I am, but it's so expensive and sometimes hard to wear ><

But I really want a beautifull lolita dress one day !

For anyone who is getting knocked by the Lolita community for enjoying DDlg: yeah, they've had a lot of grief from the public who say they are somehow encouraging pedophilia...sounds like complaints I've heard about DDlg. Logic would say the two groups would join forces and educate the public together....unfortunately ignorance (and stupidity) win out. Just ignore people who knock what you like and who you are. Wish them well and don't say another word to them.

I like loli. I like sex. If I want to have sex IN my loli outfit, I'm gonna do it.

Wanted to also point out that you can buy the name brand accessories and wear them with cheaper dresses and it still looks like you're decked out in brand. I think the accessories are more noticed/noticeable than the dress itself...personal opinion

You all make me want to try lolita fashion again! I used to wear it in highschool but there was so much drama online and in my local community that I couldn't find the motivation to dress like that anymore :/ I wore mostly kodona/ouji lolita. I still try to integrate some of my old clothes in my outfits but I'd really like to try the "full look" again someday.

I've always loved lolita fashion, and I've been trying to save up some money to buy my first dress <3

I think what makes lolita expensive are the accessories like petticoat, necklace, hairband, wig (if you want to look more like an anime character) etc.

I didn't bought all at once and a lot of things in sale. Now I have one cute dress and can buy another if I want and it isn't so expensive anymore because I have already the accessories. =)

You also don't have to buy only "lolita" things to be a lolita. Ad to you dress anything you want. Or maybe you don't like petticoats then don't wear them. You don't like japan lolita dresses but the 50's and don't have much money? Then go to a second hand shop (or ebay etc.) and buy 50's dresses, you will be a 50's lolita. You don't have to spend much money to be a lolita. The most important thing is to have fun. =)

I am super interested in lolita fashion and have been for 6 or so years but I've never tried to go full coord. I did buy a maid costume from Bodyline for a Halloween costume a few years ago and fell in love with the big poofy skirt, so I might actually try to do a full coord this year.

I've been obsessed with this fashion for about 9 years. at the moment I'm just wearing more casual pastel goth clothes. I live in Texas and find it nearly impossible to wear what I want since it's so hot. :c

Anyways! I like to make my own clothes, even though I haven't done much lately. ^^ There's a youtuber, Yumi King, who has tons of Lolita videos. Ecpecially her old videos. She makes it sooo easy to follow along, and she is so sweet! A lot of people actually think she has a ddlg relationship o; not that it's any of our business. But ive been subscribed to her for years, so this new theory is super exciting for me.

I'm a big fan of lolita and have a few dresses myself. I'm involved in the community but none of them know I'm a little. They never asked and if they ever did I would probably lie and say I'm not. I always stay quiet when they mention CGL at all. They just assume all Littles who like lolita are wearing it for fetish purposes when that is not always the case. It's no fair to make such an assumption because my love for lolita and me being a little have no connection at all. I keep them completely separate but if the community was to find out they would all hate me.

I don't have any lolita stuff but I love looking at pictures of it! I like a mix halfway between sweet and classic, so it's neither too saccharine or like I'd look like a historical reenactment. :D There's some super adorable coords on pinterest.

But why would they assume it's a fetish for all littles??? I don't even understand this. Maybe if they're talking about the dresses with baby rattle prints, but even for those some people just think it's cute. You can be a little and just want to wear cute stuff fetish free! And what if it's gothic lolita or one of the other darker styles. And why would lolita be a fetish only for littles and not other people? Their assumption just makes no sense.

I assume because there are already misconceptions about lolita fashion being for girls to seduce older men because people don't educate themselves and connect the fashion to the book. Even people who don't know the book have made comments about the fashion being childish which I don't get? Like people seem to associate anything cute with being childish these days and I don't understand why?

I think the people who make those assumptions don't know very much about either the fashion or the book.

Some of the lolita dresses resemble children's dresses. I originally got into lolita because I was sad seeing adorable little girl dresses at the mall that were far too small for me, and lolita dresses were BIG!

Obviously, when you become an adult, you must ditch all your cute stuff and transform into super-serious-business-man/woman who only wears neutral colors and has no dreams. (Sarcasm) When you're a child, you're told to dream about being "whatever you want to be when you grow up", but when you actually grow up you're deemed "childish" if you try to be what you want to be. It's absurd!

But this still doesn't explain why people in the lolita community would think others are only wearing it for fetish reasons. And, implied, that wearing lolita for fetish reasons is wrong. Maybe THOSE people have a fetish and are ashamed of it so they accuse others. <_<

(this reminds me of a story my friend told me. In 10th grade, we had gym class in the pool, so obviously we'd have to change into bathing suits and back. One of my friends would just casually change in the locker room not paying attention to anyone else, and some other girls accused her of being a lesbian because of this. In reality, those girls were probably the closeted ones angry that they were attracted to my friend.)

*shrugs* Possibly. All I know is that wearing lolita for fetish purposes is like the biggest sin to them.

I personally want to make a Meetup for littles who are into lolita so that we can feel free to be ourselves but I live in like the middle of nowhere in Pennsylvania. I've considered doing it in Pittsburgh because it's not too far from me and it's a more well known city and easy to find. If a lot of people are interested I'll plan it all out but I would need to see all who would come first.

There are ways to buy affordable lolita and it's for all body types. I'm a bit of a thickie but I love wearing it. I've bought dresses for about $30-$40.

Ahhhhhhh I love love LOVE lolita fashion!!!!! I only have three coords as of now but I'm working on hopefully attaining more in the future. :D

The first-ever piece I bought was the navy Strawberry Witch Sailor OP when I was about 15 years old, and I worked my butt off to buy it online. I love it to pieces and it's my favorite because since I'm so short, the dress reaches the middle of my calves and I automatically feel so little in it! <3 (I do admit I have a bit of trouble fitting into them because I'm very slim-thicc and my boobs are like freaking watermelons >.>) Not to mention I get so many compliments from others, especially from my Daddy, who say I look like such a beautiful girl and how much I look like an actual porcelain doll and how lolita fashion suits me so much.

However, I agree that littles aren't very well-received in the lolita community, but I understand why. They face a lot of judgement from vanillas, especially sweet lolitas, who think feminine frilly dresses = CGL and to be honest I can see why it's frustrating. However, I believe that the animosity towards the CGL community due to experiencing harassment in lolita is unfair and unwarranted. CGL already experiences enough prejudice as it is, as do lolitas, and I just wish instead of fighting, they can team up and educate the mainstream vanillas together... :(

I do have a personal experience in a lolita fashion Discord group, where a lolita inquired about my name and said something along the lines of, "Can you change it because you sound like those basic DDLG bitches on Instagram." I was like, "Oh uh... actually I am into DDLG but okay, I'll change it." That might've not been the best move... because immediately after, a whole bunch of lolitas started typing and saying a whole bunch of rude things, and then this one lolita said, "What's the number one rule about 'Fight Club'?" before kicking me out.

I'm still completely flabbergasted at their reaction, and ever since then, I have felt somewhat ashamed that I loved both lolita fashion and DDLG... :(

You shouldn't have to be ashamed. I hide the fact that I'm into ddlg but I do have some Lolita friends who know I'm into ddlg and are ok with it. It's really sad that they try to make us pick one or the other. I currently run a lolita discord server and it's appalling how they can behave sometimes. I know every community has some bad eggs (some more than others) but I've never had to kick so many people for rude behavior before. It's like lolita seems to attract a lot of rude people.
