Yeeeeees Baby is my baby I used to think I wanted to be a classic lolita, but every time I fall in love with a dress it's BTSSB. On the rare occasion thats it's not Baby, it's Angelic Pretty. I still have one MM dress on my wish list though...

Right? I used to just want to be a classic lolita as well and then sweet just sucked me in.

 

I'm convinced classic is a trap, working in cahoots with sweet. 

 

That dress is really pretty. I only have one dress and one skirt myself. Hopefully by the end of this year I'll have enough money to buy a real wardrobe to go to meets ♥

 

What other prints/ motifs do you like? I'm a sucker for anything in Ivory, especially if it has rose colored details. I also love prints with roses, cakes, or icing piping.

I always loved sweet lolita, OTT even more, but I think of like classic too. But my wardrobe was mostly sweet (: 

This was my main and brand pieces. I didn't owned a lot of brands with my student status, but I loved them.

Ooh yaaay lolita! I have loved the fashion forever and it's part of what introduced me to DD/lg Back in the days when people had discussion boards on LiveJournal lol

 

I've always just been an admirer though. I figured I could never do it because they don't make the dresses quite big enough for my chubby butt. Of course now i know you can get off brand dresses made in custom sizes,I've just never set aside the money for it. I think a lack of bravery has kept me from pursuing it because there is a good deal of sexual shaming that goes on in the general lolita community and I know that at least some of my interest in the fashion is because of my interest in DD/lg as well. That and I'd be like the ONLY one around lol

 

I'm encouraged by the fact that Daddy likes it though. He's even picked out a few dresses on Pinterest and Tumblr that he'd like to see me in. you all are encouraging too. I'm glad this topic came up!

I loooove lolita ^^ I've actually been into the fashion longer than littleness aaaand I still don't have any full coords. But I do have some lolita-esque clothes! I'm sweet for sure ,_, The lolita ddlg cross hate is a super scary thing to be honest. It constantly seems like both communities are calling each other out on promoting pedophilia >_<

I still really enjoy it though :/

Don't let it scare you, as someone who frequents /cgl/ (where most of the hate comes from and starts) it's nothing personal. Those ladies will find anything to bitch about someone. I wouldn't pay attention to either side and just do and wear what makes you happy.

 

I'd love to see some of your lolita-esque outfits sometime. I've been wearing lolita since 2012 and I still can't say I have a full coord. Currently I'm lacking in sweet lolita shoes or pretty accessories. So don't feel bad. :3

 

Ahhh yeah same. If I ever get a good enough skirt I'll show. ^^ But yeah it's kinda hard for me to find stuff and be happy with  it cause I'm 5'9 

 

Maybe when I get a little more money I'll invest x3

This is my favorite indie dress so far.

It was made by a friend in my local community, called Truly Darling (formally known as Clockwork Rose Boutique). Anyways it's chiffon and has bats. It's just perfect.

Oh no I was afraid this conversation was going to pop up.

 

The reason the Tumblr community seems to be harsh on people who in the ddlg community because people outside ofthe community will conflate ddlg kink and the fashion together and it makes those not interested in ddlg uncomfortable. It even makes those in ddlg community uncomfortable. Remember, there are minors that also take part in the fashion plus the name works against us and makes people wary. People don't want to be subjected to sexual advances due to ignorance and misconception; they just want to wear pretty clothes. Please don't fault them for that.

 

That being said, I got into Lolita this year and I live the classic style. Innocent World and Metamorphose is life<3

 

Edit: every one of these dresses are adorable!!! Does anyone love indie brands??

I really, really, REALLY want to get into Lolita clothes someday! Maybe not my entire wardrobe, but I would really love at least a week's worth of coords pretty-ing up my closet! Unfortunately I have some really expensive hobbies. (namely BJD collecting. . .) It's difficult to balance my spending sometimes. If it makes me happy, I want it! But luckily I started a new job with my Big working for Amazon, and the paycheck is phenominally better than my last job! I hope I'll be able to start working towards Lolita. . .

 

Oh! But, I hadn't even considered what kind I would wear? I never really gave much thought. . . Can someone give me some recommendations? I'm a little bit big around the middle, and I don't want to look like a muffin. ; 3;

It's totally a cute look. I don't think I'd rock a full on lolita look but I like many of the dresses, shoes, and accessories that come with the style. Once I have more money of my own I'm thinking of buying from some lolita themed shops.
