What is your exercise like?

Hello :)

I haven't been part of the community long, but I've already had the pleasure to talk about many different interests with people here. You're all so diverse and wonderful! That said, there's one big one for me that I haven't seen mentioned at all. Exercise. Here is me this morning, for example:

e7b48257e6ea30818e8360bb0a27a5c3--weight

Of course, I'm aware this isn't for everyone, but with the many people I see here I have to imagine there's at least a few others that also work out regularly, or are perhaps interested in starting. I got into it 4 years ago myself, and now since the summer I'm working hard to finally have the beach body I've always dreamed of. That means eating right, visiting the gym 2 days per week, and doing cardio on two others to lose that little extra weight I have. I'm doing it mostly on my own, so it's nice for me to be able to talk to people who are also committed to a goal, no matter what level you're currently at.

So how about you? Are you currently working out or want to start? Any particular goals any of you are going for? Any particular workout you could recommend? Need a workout buddy? I'd love to hear about all of it!

A few years ago I started a new routine.  It consists of eating more unhealthily than ever before and a completely sedentary lifestyle with as little movement as possible.  So far, I am killing it.

working out is one of the things i miss most after being on movement restriction post-surgery.

i really like cardio + the weights.

lifting makes me feel like a bad ass.

the giant + i also go on a lot of walks (specifically for pokemon because we're nerds.)

my only true goal right now is getting healed up enough so that i can start being more physically-active again!

i've started walking again (but it's only laps around the office, haha!)

I’ve been into fitness most of my life. I trail run or row every morning. I've noticed if I do cardio in the morning I feel way better throughout the day. I do weights or HIT every day but only work on strength 3 days a week. Sometimes working out gets boring so I change it up a lot and I substitute in fun activities. Indoor rock climbing, soccer, jiujitsu, rowing, and mountain biking are fun ways to stay in shape. Also, I’ve been really enjoying kettlebell workouts lately.

Unfortunately, my work is about 80% sedentary. I assume this is an issue several others have as well. I have a great routine to combat this. I have a timer on my computer that goes off every hour. When it goes off I do 10 burpees,10 squats, and 10 situps. It’s simple and only takes a couple of minutes. Doesn’t seem like much but over the course of 10 hours, you’ll have done 100 burpees,100 squats, and 100 situps. I don’t count this as my workout, it just helps offset the negative impact of sitting all day.

I eat very clean. Mostly meat, vegetables, and fruit. One day a week I put no limitations on myself and consume whatever I want.

As far as fun work outs i will say hiking is my favorite! But i love in Florida so the hiking trails are just long walks haha. I travel to Ecuador often and when im there i go hiking beautiful mountains with amazing weather. Other than that i have a machine at home the brand is Nordic track and is not as boring as other machines so its a good way to het a workout. I had surgery on my foot 2 weeks ago so I'm not doing anything at the moment.

Cardio is mostly what i do. I do want to start on working out my arms since im as weak as they come.

My diet is mainly vegetarian. On the occasion i do go to restaurants i will have anything meaty on the menu.

My weight loss has been slow but steady. I lost 20 pounds last year and i still have 20 more pounds to go.

what i do is to eat right and exercise at home actually.

Eating: I limit my sugar intake and try to eat as much natural sugar as possible by making myself smoothie bowls with granolas (reading the labels to me is important too so I know what I’m eating and all). I also change to dairy-free eating mostly for my skin but I somehow not experience as bloating as before too. Other than that, I go with 8-hour fasting. I also drink Spirullina and Chlorophyll to maximize the energy I’m gaining from what I consume as well.

Exercise: 2 rest days per week. I’m more focus on abs so I do abs more (both in number of sets and variety). If I already walk a lot that day, I will skip legs for that day.

I do aerobics and step 3 times per week and, I don't know if it counts but I walk a lot everyday (mostly bc I don't have a car, bike, nothing). My weight isn't thaat bad, but I want to have a better body. My problem is the food, it's really difficult to me to eat well. I mean, I mostly eat vegetables and fruit but I eat A LOT and I can't live without ice cream :( but I'm about to go to a nutritionist bc I really need help with my eating habits.

I don't officially work out, but I walk all over the place at my camp (live and work there), including frequent three mile hikes up a small "mountain" (technically a large hill but it's still pretty steep and high). When it was 85 a few days ago I was sweating buckets going up there.

I also carry stuff around between buildings or to where a class will be taught. And rock wall belaying can be an arm work out, especially with older kids or adults because they're heavier if they slip. But even with little kids, pulling the rope through the piece that creates friction still uses muscles. Oh, and moving dining hall tables, sweeping floors, mopping, carrying firewood, etc. :)

Exercise is my life. It makes me happier... so like work is so annoying so as soon as im home i work out for like 1hour and a half then eat then later on i exercise for a bit again once my stonach is settled.

On fridays saturdays and sundays i have 3 exercise sessions.

These include weights, rowing machine, cross trainer, running, various other exercises. Like pulls ups pressups etc

I eat a LOT aswell but im quite light despite this rip. I naturally prefer fruit veg and meat without the 'extras' so id say i eat fairly healthily. My ibs flares up to often with other stuff anyways. Its a constant struggle

I dont tend to have rest days even though i should - my body does feel better after one.

But i just love it too much haha. Its like a need. I feel bad without it

I highly recommend yoga on your rest days. I used to be so fixated on “killing it” in a work out session or breaking a mean sweat. Yoga brings a nice balance of making sure you remain flexible. After a long session of stretch yoga, I’m a blissed out Buddha!

Great topic!

I love to do strength training, despite lingering injuries I've had for years. I do a full-body dumbbell workout 4 times a week, along with a lot of cardio on days I don't lift. I also avoid most processed foods, eat a lot of fruits, veggies, lean protein.

Hi! I lift weights 3-4 times a week and try to get 8-10k steps a day through lots of walks! I want to get into kickboxing and running more, too.
