blu Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 I'm gonna go to the library with Daddy tomorrow and I wanted to know if anyone had any good suggestions! It could be good stories for bed time or even a more advanced book to read when I'm not so deep into my little space. I really love reading and I'm not too picky about genres. I will say that I do lean towards historical fiction or even historical nonfiction though! All suggestions welcome thank you!
DaddyJsPrincess Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 I love recommending anything by Marie Brennan. If you like renaissance history, you may like "Midnight Never Come". It's a mystery with lots of fairies in it! And lots of strong female characters, including Queen Elizabeth!
blu Posted August 20, 2015 Author Report Posted August 20, 2015 Oh that sounds amazing I'll have to check it out! Thank you
Guest LaidBackDaddy Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 Here is a free e-book for Littles! Good today only!!!!!! http://www.amazon.com/Love-Baby-Animals-Childrens-Children-ebook/dp/B00B1LH0OQ?_bbid=1248278&_bbtype=email
RPcat18 Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 Calvin and Hobbes really gets me into little space so that's a good one. For more grown up times if you like good characterisation I would check out anything by Joe Hill ( horror) or Rainbow Rowel ( contemporary and some ya). As far as historical fiction goes I would say The Help and Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe are both great reads. I can't think of any good non fiction books but as a former history student I would suggest checking out something about the Spanish civil war. It's not talked about often but it's really interesting. Oh and if your big is reading to you Harry Potter will always be the best book for that hands down.
Little Mouse Posted August 28, 2015 Report Posted August 28, 2015 I like romance novels... especially historical romance...
Ringdancer Posted August 29, 2015 Report Posted August 29, 2015 Charles de Lint writes some amazing novels. A great many of them are modern fairy tale (fairy tales that take place in the modern world) but others are more traditional fairy tales. Sometimes they can be a bit dense with lots of lead in but all I've read so far have been quite enjoyable. He has books of short stories that make good bedtime reading. ^_- Examples: Someplace to be flying (modern fantasy) The Little Country (more traditional fairy tale) Moonlight and Vines (Short Stories)
