Being a geek is all about being honest about what you enjoy and not being afraid to demonstrate that affection. It means never having to play it cool about how much you like something. It's funny because while I definitely am a geek/nerd/dork, almost nobody actually labels me that.

 

I guess because I'm not as interested in a lot of the popular stuff (Game of Thrones, Marvel, video games, etc) I don't join in when other geeks talk about them so nobody knows.  And I'm so used to nobody having a clue what I'm talking about when I try to talk about my interests I just don't often bother.

 

But I love cool sciencey things like solar system necklaces and weather measurement tools like rain gauges/barometers/etc.

I love antique glassware. Hand tools. Learning pioneer skills and how to use less resources/electricity.

My mom sells a lot of stuff on eBay and she goes to me to ask all sorts of history/geography questions when she's selling something old

My favorite music includes rock operas/concept albums which is pretty nerdy unto itself.

I like animal skulls. One day I will have a mini natural history museum in my home. Already have a bunch of seashells and my prize male turkey tail feather.
