Guest SnappleCap Posted February 27, 2019 Report Posted February 27, 2019 (edited) Being a geek is all about being honest about what you enjoy and not being afraid to demonstrate that affection. It means never having to play it cool about how much you like something. Its basically a license to proudly emote on a somewhat sophomoric level rather than behave like a supposed adult. Being a geek is extremely liberating. ~ Simon Pegg Edited February 27, 2019 by SnappleCap 1

Littlest_Bee Posted February 27, 2019 Report Posted February 27, 2019 A wonderful quote and one of the reasons why I like Simon Pegg as much as I do. I guess I'll need to watch the Cornetto trilogy again.
LittleTeacup Posted February 27, 2019 Report Posted February 27, 2019 It's funny because while I definitely am a geek/nerd/dork, almost nobody actually labels me that. I guess because I'm not as interested in a lot of the popular stuff (Game of Thrones, Marvel, video games, etc) I don't join in when other geeks talk about them so nobody knows. And I'm so used to nobody having a clue what I'm talking about when I try to talk about my interests I just don't often bother. But I love cool sciencey things like solar system necklaces and weather measurement tools like rain gauges/barometers/etc. I love antique glassware. Hand tools. Learning pioneer skills and how to use less resources/electricity. My mom sells a lot of stuff on eBay and she goes to me to ask all sorts of history/geography questions when she's selling something old My favorite music includes rock operas/concept albums which is pretty nerdy unto itself. I like animal skulls. One day I will have a mini natural history museum in my home. Already have a bunch of seashells and my prize male turkey tail feather. Yeah I'm eccentric. 1

He used to have a segment about the "skull of the week" but I think he's pretty much gone through all the skulls he has by now. If you don't already follow him, it might be interesting for you to take a look: https://youtu.be/-3gtvaslrSE Edited February 28, 2019 by Gândi_Bee

Thanks! I wasn't aware of this channel. 1
Littlest_Bee Posted March 1, 2019 Report Posted March 1, 2019 Have fun I certainly enjoy the content. It's a lot of fun to watch someone geeking out.
