Make a story with me! <3

I want to make a story, please make a story with me. I know we all have different ideas about how to do this. So rules. We should have rules.

 

Write 1-10 sentences. Continue where the other stopped. If the thread is unwritten in for... lets say... 2 days, you can continue on your own piece if you like.

 

I can't come up with more rules...

 

I think it is superfun to make stories, so if you don't like the rules here - make a thread of your own, explain the rules so we all can join in. The more stories the better! So please don't give me critic for the rules.

The tree's echoed with the sound of the King's horsemen galloping relentless not far behind, as the young maid scurried to reach the village she was born in. As she past the creek, running barefoot, she realized that she would never make it and instead decided to hide in an old mossy log..

As the trampling of hooves drew closer, she slipped deeper into the dank hollow coolness of the log. She shuddered, clamping a dirt-covered hand over her mouth, paying no mind to the various insects that had begun to indulge their curiosity to the log's newest resident.

 

"She couldn't be far," a stern anxious voice echoed from the outside. "Set up checkpoints at all villages within 10 kilometers. She can't hide in these woods forever."

 

They had no intention of making her return home easy. But of course they wouldn't, because...

The maiden listened in fear as she suddenly heard footsteps near her hiding place. She clamped her nose and mouth so not a single breath of sound would escape. She saw a boot toe so she closed her eyes and concentrated on her happy place. She envisioned a glassy serene lake surrounded by weeping willows. She always thought of this place in times of stress, but she didn't know why. All of the sudden, her body began to vibrate from deep within..

A familiar voice reached me. I heard it lure away one by one of the enemy. I crossed my fingers and prayed.

Soon silence filled the area, and all was still as the voice she had heard fell to a wisper within her head, "Go now, past the village for which you call home.  Go east till you find the place where the sun leaves the water. There you will find who you really are." The young maiden gasped as the voice fell silent, eyes shooting open. She crept from her hiding place, looking around for any sign of her persuers, but there where none.  She quickly ran to the village gathering what she could from the quaint run down cottage she called her home.  Donning a cloak she slipped out the back making her way through the woods along a long forgotten path, not daring to look back at her once called home as her heart tugged her along on this new journey to find who she was.

Hours later, stumbling over exposed roots, she finally stopped and took in her surroundings. The air was sweeter, more delightful to her lungs and refreshing to her mind, the sun was beginning to settle on the treetops, giving the sky a golden glow as she slowly strolled towards a lake of ethereal beauty just past the first tufts of baby trees. She stopped, her toes cradling the edge before allowing a toe to slip inside. Almost instantly she had removed her bodice and the leather that bound her breasts and dove beneath the reflective surface, leaving just a ripple. As she emerged she glance at the sky, and then the beauty of this place she was surrounded by. Noticing the sun dipping into the water, she smiled to herself, "It's like fire and water become one, perhaps tomorrow I can see the sun rebirth."

'Go east till you find the place where the sun leaves the water. There you will find who you really are.'  The words troubled the maidens mind for several hours until sleep had finally found her.
