Littlest_Shaman Posted December 5, 2018 Report Posted December 5, 2018 Hey! I was wondering if anybody had some cool things to draw out, so far I've been going thru a pirate phase of anything with sailboats to legends like the kraken below, I was also wondering if any other littles or cgs out there enjoyed a little fire on their artwork hope yall are doing great, I know I have been ^-^
Guest Bunnyblossom Posted December 9, 2018 Report Posted December 9, 2018 I love this! I’m hoping to get a jigsaw for xmas to cut my own wood and use my woodburner finally. How long did it take you to get this good at it? I’m just imagining all the wood i’m going to ruin when I start out, lol It’s realy neato burrito though, especially the detail on the tentacles.

It didn't take much actually! Well a few practices and pencil following. I wanna suggest tho get some scrap wood (much like whatever you'll be using) and test out the different bits, for that I used the original bit cause it can do a bit of everything, practice basic lines and shading cause it'll feel different putting the burning in than you would for coloring or drawing etc, There also is graphite paper you could use to get ur pencil lines perfect for your burning (in trying to do freehand from the beginning cause I wanted to get good at it. Even if it dosnt look like the actual pic lol! P.s be safe with the tool give it a few mins to cool down to change or tighten a bit cause it can burn bad
Littlest_Shaman Posted December 11, 2018 Author Report Posted December 11, 2018 OH and take ur time. Literally to get ur lines and shading is to be patient. To fast and you may have to burn deeper than before or more than u wanted
Guest Bunnyblossom Posted December 11, 2018 Report Posted December 11, 2018 Thenkyou so much for your tips, advice and such. ^^ I’m super excited to start. And if you do more, pls post pics! Because I rly love this sorta thing- no pressure though. Lol :3 I’m gonna have to suss out this graphite paper for practicing on. I did pyrography way back as a teen in woodshop, but I don’t remember much about it. But burning too deep is def a concern. I’ll probably check out some tutorials on YT once I get my jigsaw, because I’m an anxiouspants lol ^-^
Littlest_Shaman Posted December 11, 2018 Author Report Posted December 11, 2018 YouTube is always helpful for it and ik there are a few good suggestions there ^-^ you'll do great and I'd love to see the outcome when u do get it done : p
