Teeth hurting from pacifier?

Recommended Posts

I just got my first pacifier, and I am in LOVE. I sleep with it, and I've noticed that when I take it out, particularly in the morning, my teeth are sore and achy. Anybody know why, and solutions?

your not actually suppose to sleep with them. it will jack your teeth up bad.

It pushes against your teeth - specifically it will cause an overbite, pushing your front teeth outwards. It displaces them slowly but surely, because of our jaw pressure, and the moveability of our teeth. Definitely do not sleep with it in, as cute and lovely as it sounds, pacifiers really are not made for mouths with teeth in them.

I had that problem too. It's totally a bummer but I guess we're not supposed to sleep with them in :'c

My teeth hurt after a hour already  I always thought I just need an adult size pacifier, because mine is actually from the baby section.

Well I've read in some (abdl) forum that a pacifier doesn't move teeth quickly/much and shouldn't usually hurt you, it might be possible that it's something about your gum. But they also tell that its anyways a bad idea to use a pacifier overnight. Do some research on those forums, they're really helpful in this case!

Stop using it! Unless you want your teeth to be a mangled mess. If you love your orthodontist and paying 4k then by all means keep it up.
