Poem for Daddy

(Wherever he is)

 

I wait for him by candlelight

Tears cover my pillow

Throughout the darkest nights

As the day breaks new hope

My heart still aches for my daddy

As it did each night before

Something in my soul, though

Tells me he is looking for me too

I have never had a real daddy yet, you know

Because I knew there was only one for me

I have not seen his face or heard is voice

Every song I sing, every rhyme I write

All the art I create is fused with my passion for him

Something told me to look in this place

This is no choice to wait

But I know it is what I must do

Where are you? I need you

I feel you, your soul

Find me soon, hurry

I am waiting for you to bloom
