I wasn't entirely sure where this fit, but I need help! I cannot sit down and focus enough for even 5 minutes to study! What do I do?! I don't wanna fail out of school, so I need to study! :C

If you don't mind me asking, what content are you studying?   :)   For me, anything super memorization-intensive drives me up the wall and I have a hard time keeping at it..

Taking breaks is the best thing I can suggest (or a treat of some kind), by breaking it into smaller sections.  For example, study for an hour, then do something fun for a bit (or finish X section and then play something for awhile, or get a treat or something, etc.)  Eventually, I got into the habit of just wanting to finish it all right away so I could just relax afterwards.  :D

Try Tomato Timer! It's a website that follows the pomodoro method for studying (25 minutes of work/5 minutes of rest). There are also idle apps and websites that "grow" plants while you study.

Sometimes you just have to force yourself to start. Also having study time built into your schedule helps you anticipate and mentally prepare a little better.

I'm probably the worst person to be giving advice seeing as I'm only on here right now to procrastinate studying for finals. I've also been told it's likely I have adhd and have been referred through for official testing, but I've been too scared to book in for it lol (yes - I know I should and I will when I feel ready)

Flash cards really help for me. Because they're quick and I can stop if I need to without it being in the middle of something. I use the website quizlet, and sometimes if you're lucky you can find sets that other people have made up for your class. ^^

I also use an app called Self Control. It's only for Macs as far as I know, but basically it allows you to block a bunch of websites for a set amount of time. Even if you close the app it won't allow you to access the sites until the time is up. I've used this since high school and I really like it because it stops me from accessing sites I'd normally use to procrastinate when I really need to just get my head down and study. :p

I wish I could get into that habit! The content is mostly animal sciences!

https://selfcontrolapp.com/ (sfw). I've used it since year 12 in high school lol. It's really helpful if you're someone who thinks "I'll just quickly check my emails and my tumblr and facebook and..." and then suddenly you've wasted an hour :p
