Wow, I didn't think I'd find other trans littles so quick! I'm really new and don't know a lot about the community, but it's nice seeing I'm not the only trans little on here! I'm kinda more of a nonbinary-boy little, but yeahhhh.

Oh yay! I am a FTM little and thought I wasn't gonna find anyone too quickly! :D

I'm also an ftm trans little!!

I honestly love how accepting of trans peoples this community is compared to other BDSM lifestyles

But yeah!! I'd love to be friends with ya! :)

Hiii!  Genderfluid MtF here!

I won't lie, it was a little nerve-wracking to be open about that from the beginning when I signed up here, but it's so heart-warming to see how little anyone minds it.  It's also very comforting to see other trans littles.  The overall "community," for lack of a better term at the moment, isn't always so welcoming.

Here's hoping I can make friends with all of you!

Please, don't use MtF or FtM, this is transphobic.

I'm not even sure how to address that.

Please no fights!!!! I think 'problematic' would be a better word. I think what Strawberry means is that "MtF - Male to Female" implies that the person with that label was male and then at some point becomes female, and same with FtM obviously. Generally AFAB/AMAB (Assigned Female at Birth / Assigned male at birth) is a better alternative. I don't mind MtF at all really, and it would appear most the users here don't either, but if someone does? It's... not hard to change you language a bit. Besides, I've been making a conscious effort to use AMAB/AFAB instead anyways. A lot of cis people think "transgender" can be used as a noun, anything to make our vocabulary a little more standard and ditch some outdated terms is a good thing imo

Also hi! 21 yo AMAB girl / maybe gf, I'm figuring it out again oop

Nope, sorry, but that's vocab policing and I'm not at all interested in indulging it.  I am MtF.  That is who I am.  This is my identity, and no one has the right to tell me that I'm wrong.  Not to mention that AFAB/AMAB do not automatically imply a transgender/transitioning state.  They can be - and have been - used to refer to cis people.

Sorry if you think that my identity is an "outdated term," but I guess find a way to deal and move on???

I’m with Clover on this one. The majority of trans folks in this thread clearly have no problem using MtF / FtM to refer to themselves so if you’ve got an issue with that, that’s a you problem. MtF / FtM IS standard vocabulary so I don’t understand this business of “we need to standardize these terms.”

I certainly advocate the use of AMAB / AFAB to refer to non-binary folks, since MtF / FtM is often not a good fit to describe their identity! But that’s why I don’t always use AFAB for myself - it doesn’t feel reflective of who I am, and like Clover mentioned, doesn’t outright reflect the fact that I am currently transitioning medically. I am in the process of transitioning, BECOMING - and I am not ashamed of saying so.

If we’re talking transphobia here, telling a group of trans folks that the way they describe their own identities is wrong...is actually transphobic AF. So validating and supportive I can’t even.

This. But for the record, I am new to the trans community and did not realize FtM could be construed as offensive. It was not my intention to upset anyone.

Really glad to see this thread hasn't died because I've been feeling alone and almost gave up on CGL.

XmochiX, don't worry.  No one who is reasonable would ever accuse you of being offensive for using FtM.  Like Brightmoon said, FtM/MtF are the standard vocabulary within the transgender community - especially for those who are medically transitioning.  I can assure you, you are not in the minority here.

For StrawberryDoll and KairiKai64 to imply that using those terms somehow makes you a perpetuater of internalized transphobia or an outdated, divisive member of the community is, as Brightmoon points out, incredibly transphobic in and of itself.  Additionally, I'm fairly certain that SD is trolling here and KairiKai64's argument essentially boils down to respectability politics, which is gross as all Hell.  It isn't the responsibility of the oppressed to make sure we all toe some mystical line of decency or vocabulary so that the majority group's poor sensibilities aren't offended or confused.  Asking the transgender community to shoulder the burden of that is extremely harmful to the transgender movement.

Hullos,

I'm a long-ago M2F, so there ;-p All this stupid victim olympics rubbish has always been divisive for our community. It's long been a tactic of the left to co-opt trans people into the marxist culture wars as cannon fodder. We're a great tool to shove in front of an issue, but when it comes to actually supporting us or making our lives better.. yeah, not so much.

Would you believe that in Victoria, Australia, there are days which are designated 'ze' days where you're not allowed to call people he or she in Government agencies.

Not joking. I for one didn't transition to be a 'ze'.

I went through hell and high water to affirm my identity and damned if I am going to have that nullified by stupid overboard "politically correct" policy and marxist social engineering.

If you really want an actually inclusive term it's SGD - Sex and Gender Diverse.  Because guess what kiddies, as soon as you //specify// more than that, you by definition, have to exclude someone. That's what specifying is. It's discriminating (gasp!) one group from another.

So shocking to say what you mean, I know. What a radical and world-altering move to break away from Newspeak and actually have truth in your words.

But try it. It's fun and entertaining to have your language not actually be an impediment to understanding.  Props to the people pushing back and not being told how to speak about their own lived identities and selves. I just love how identity politics actually prevents you from having and owning your own identity.

Gee, I wonder what kind of "'phobic" I'll be labeled. I can't wait to find out lol.

With love from your big (little) sister Grace (laycette)

I am a transgender. I was born a boy. Inside I feel like a girl. I haven't had  any hormones or gotten the SRS surgery. I don't think I ever will take hormones and get the surgery.
