Father’s Day would have been 10x worse had it not been for my daddy/ddlg. Shout out to the real good men of the world who help make up for the horrible ones.

And even though i am a straight woman, to balance that out, why not also have a shout out to the good women who make up for the horrible ones. There are bad people and good people. It's not the good persons responsibility to make up for anything a bad one did.

To balance it out, there is Mother's Day. Let's stay on topic.

Thought the topic was more about good daddies as oppose to bad ones. So yeah, still on topic.

It's a little unclear from the OP what the topic is, but I interpret it that perhaps Father's Day is difficult for her (maybe because of real life bad experiences) and that having a nice Daddy in her life right now helped her through what could have been a difficult day.

Holidays can be tough - Christmas, birthdays, etc., if they have a difficult association.

I find Father's Day difficult because my beloved Dad is alive but lost to Alzheimers.

Yes those days can definitely be difficult for us for different reasons. And of course i appreciate that bad days can be made better by good people. i guess my point is that i see so many posts targeting men. But it's not always men that are the bad ones.

Master is an absolute diamond, but no way do i expect Him to make up for the several absolute morons i have known. i also don't need Him to fix losing my father to kidney failure and leukaemia when i was in my early twenties.

Obviously we all want and experience different things, but this is my own personal opinion and experience, which is the only input any of us can ever give, of course.

Discussions often deviate from the original point. As long as they have relevance.

That's a beautiful way of expressing it, and very true.

Apologies for double posting, I don't know how the muliti-quote thing works. Didn't seem to work for me ha ha.

That's what makes this forum so interesting IMO. Hearing so many differing points of view and experiences. It's a shame when people get annoyed or upset because the replies aren't what they wanted to hear.

Thank you :) . i also can't double quote from my phone, so will also say i agree with your second post too. That's actually very similar to another thing i was going to say on my latest post.

Y’all were busy as I was sleeping...LOL! Yes Looby-Lou you are correct. :) I’m sorry about your father. Alzheimer’s is such a difficult disease to watch progress. My grandpa has it and it’s heartbreaking to watch the mind change so much.

every year on Father's Day, my sister & i send little notes or letters to the positive male role models in our lives since our birth father was pretty awful in a myriad of ways. we find that it helps us focus on the good people out there -- we do the same thing for mother's day!
