spankings and candys Posted May 1, 2018 Report Posted May 1, 2018 My Little has not much experience with makeup. i like certain types of makeup, fake eyelashes, mascara, eyeliner, dark eyeshadow, foundation etc. She wants to learn makeup but i think as i know the look, where would i learn to do her makeup? is it possible for a daddy to be able to do a littles makeup without looking terrible? Where do i find info? Are girls naturally better at makeup than men? your thoughts please.. Cheers
Guest You're adorable. Posted May 1, 2018 Report Posted May 1, 2018 Umm. Are girls naturally better at make up than men? I very much doubt it. Like you said, she doesn't have much experience with makeup. People only get better with experience, whether man or woman, so I don't think girls are naturally better. It's just that they do it and men don't so of course they are more skilled. I think you can learn online, from videos, blogs, posts etc. There may also be some courses or classes. You may try to look around in your area. Maybe go to beauty salon and look how professionals do it. So of course it's possible to do other person make up. There are beauty salons that do it. And I really doubt that there are no male make up artists. Just experiment and get better. Also, I want to say that i don't know anything about makeup. Only things that my little taught me so sorry if i am saying something stupid. 1
Guest SUeB Posted May 1, 2018 Report Posted May 1, 2018 my son wears make up, and is amazing at it. His look is flawless. Very professional looking. But generally speaking, yes women are "better" at it, because they're usually more experienced at it. Is it really so important that she wears it? Just be aware that it can sound bad to tell a girl you prefer her to wear more make up. Nothing wrong with that, my Master likes to see me made up. But some girls can be really sensitive. They can take it as an insult. Like they're being told they're not good enough, or pretty enough. But yes, i see no reason you can't do that if she also thinks it's a good idea. Practice. Have fun with it. Don't make one attempt then send her off on her day, lol. Give a few attempts first, at least. And the possibility is that it just doesn't work out. Don't be disappointed if that happens. Some people (girls included) are simply rubbish at putting make up on, especially putting it on someone else.
Guest BabyPeach Posted May 1, 2018 Report Posted May 1, 2018 You can go to Youtube and watch tutorials and then incorporate what you want and leave the rest. If she wants to learn makeup, then she should learn to do makeup. Why not learn together? I don't think you should discourage her from learning since you "know the look" you're going for. It's her face. There are definitely males who do makeup and are makeup artists.......Jeffree Star is one of them. He also has his own brand. Also, if you have a Sephora near you, they will help her in picking out and applying the right colors, products, etc. Keep in mind that makeup can be expensive, especially when you need to buy at least all the basics (foundation, concealer, powder, eye shadow, mascara, blush, lipstick and/or gloss). I prefer mineral makeup from the brand Bare Minerals. It's very gentle on the face.
Guest PopcornJellyBean Posted May 1, 2018 Report Posted May 1, 2018 I would watch youtube tutorials and also invest in buying the beauty products for yourself that way (if you are comfortable doing so) you could test out the looks on yourself first. With makeup practice makes perfect. I'm really good at doing cat eyes and one specific make up look but I can't do smokey eye makeup for the life of me because I have never tried. Also if you buy the makeup for yourself you can end up giving it to your little! Practicing on them would also be good if they were okay with that as well. <3 Good Luck! Make up is hard!
DustBunny93 Posted May 1, 2018 Report Posted May 1, 2018 I'm very good at makeup because I have had a lot of practice over the years of wearing makeup and practicing certain things. Watch YouTube and search for specific tutorials, for example: winged eyeliner tutorial. Then tons of videos will pop up for that specific look. You can search for whatever type of look you are going for. I just want to say cat eye/winged eyeliner is harder to do than normal eyeliner because you have to draw the little "flick" aka the wing at the end but YouTube has great videos some even how to do it according to eye shape. Make sure that you guys learn how to blend the makeup especially eye shadow because I see a lot of girls who just put it on and not blend it out nicely and to me personally it looks very bad. You want to blend especially if you are going for a more "natural" look one day. Also learn how to blend foundation. Believe me nothing is worse than looking in the mirror and realizing that you have a line on your jaw where your makeup stops. That is a sure way to tell someone is wearing foundation is if the neck isn't blended. Believe me from my own experience from when I was younger. Back in the day I wish I had tutorials on YouTube on how to do all of this. I taught myself so much and so many tricks along the way. Also false eyelashes are hard to put on too. Don't let that discourage you or her. Just wear some nice mascara and she might not even need false eyelashes! I personally don't need any because I have long thick eyelashes and all I need is one coat of mascara and it looks like I'm wearing nice eyelashes hehe. Just remember makeup is a fun thing! Don't let it discourage you or your little just because you don't know how to do it. Let it be a fun experience for you both. Let it be a fun thing to look forward to do whenever she is going to wear it. Also just remember not everyday needs to be a wear makeup day. Some days should be natural makeup free days especially in the beginning as you are transitioning to makeup more. And also not every single time needs to be 100% done up with a full glamour face of makeup. Because I don't wear foundation all the time or do certain types of makeup every day. Just don't make her feel like she has to do the whole nine yards every single day for you. Because that can be not only discouraging to her self esteem but tiring as well. Good luck.
