Angel24 Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 Moths. They are monsters and will always be. They should all die. 1
Guest lalalaluna Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 I'm still scared of el Chupacabra and la Llorona Do they count? I spent a lot of time growing up in deeply rural Mexico where those myths took place and my family told us the stories to keep us from wandering around outside at night
Little Illy Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 I have 4 phobias from childhood. They are all still my phobias now and I am not afraid of anything other than those 4. A majority of people will carrying childhood fears with them all through their life, even if it isn't "fear" they experience. What happens is that as we get older, if we see these fears as silly (like the monster in our closet) we may actually get the occasional blip on the radar. Maybe you aren't afraid of the monster anymore, but for some reason tonight you just dont feel as relaxed with the closet door open when you go to bed. Or lets say you have a massive fear, humans tend to work their lives around it. For example: If a person has a fear of clowns as a kid, they can grow out of it as they are older and able to rationalize, but yet they still may not go to the circus just out of habit. Even though they aren't afriad of the clowns anymore, their actions have gotten them into the routine to not even register with the circus is in town. I tell people to not be embarassed of their fears and phobias. Most fears are stemmed from the natural instinct to survive. People can easily be afraid of the dark, spiders, snakes, heights and water. But if you look at why that could be (unknown threat, threat on the walls and cornes, threat in the grass and trees, threat of falling fatally, and threat of drowning) all of these things represent something destructive that can harm us. Does that mean we should give way to the fear and be terrified of everything? No! Not at all! But what I am saying is that there is almost always a rational reason for fears 1
Lil' Miss Dolly Posted April 27, 2018 Report Posted April 27, 2018 I was terrified of clowns, spiders and the dark. I only kept the spider thing but that's more neurosis than anything.
