I've been debating starting this topic for awhile now.....I asked papa bear last night if he thought it was a good idea and he said yes, so, I decided to proceed. I thought it would be cute to have a place where we could share two things: 1.) what we are currently pining after in terms of clothes, trinkets, ENGAGEMENT RINGS, even food, etc and 2.) recent purchases/steals that we absolutely adore and are eager to share with the world. 

 

As papa bear accurately said, it's like a mini tumblr, but a place where we can directly share little and or big things and comment upon them. I love anything aesthetically pleasing and love to see what things people are not only interested in but buying. (Especially with clothes. I'll be sharing lots of clothes, mostly. The fashionista in me must.) And besides, I think we all need a place where we can get really excited over something seemingly silly.

I love anything and everything ballerina + pink + bows so these are essentially my dream shoes. I have been obsessed with them since the beginning of summer. At the end of summer, I always treat myself with a dress or two for working at my summer job. Papa bear always spoils me and is always happy to let me spoil myself but this time, he's been really, really against these and isn't budging. He keeps telling me that he thinks they will make my feet sweat, are expensive since they are plastic. will continuously come untied, and will wear out quickly. He may be right  but I still love them and hope to have them by next month. It will be bittersweet though because I'm not comfortable with any purchase that he isn't comfortable with which is why I've been procrastinating over them for so long.....

 

On a more positive note, I just got my end of the summer dressies early....Modcloth was having a sale!! I had been mulling over what kind of dressie I wanted for awhile. Originally, I was set on a lacy dark blue one but changed my mind upon realizing I bought a dark blue dress last year.  Then, I decided I wanted a genuine 50's dress (I always go for vintage styled dresses so why not an original?) so the search on storeenvy began.

 

The dresses weren't particularly cheap but I found a few decent choices. Papa bear wasn't very impressed with them though and I wasn't very impressed with modcloth. I needed something fancy, but not over the top for my anniversary trip and for my cousin's wedding. Yesterday, I was scouting the internet and noticed that a dress that papa bear loved had gone on sale. It wasn't THE dress but it could be a casual anniversary dress for Day 2 or 3 so I knew I had to snap it up for under thirty dollars. I did not want to pay eight dollars shipping though so went over to the sale section in order to find something decent that would bring my total up to fifty.

 

.....About nine pages later.....a dress I had probably passed since it was over $150 was half off. It was fifties style, a nice mint/champagne color and frilly. Check for my dream dressie. On my way off the site I stumbled upon a pair of floral flats for $16. Another steal. I showed everything to papa bear and he happily agreed. Everything is now on it's way and I'm very excited!!

 

 

 Wow, I wrote a novel as usual and probably scared everyone off. Don't worry friends, short posts are good too!! I'm just dying to share I guess and I'm being good here. I have carousel cakes, engagement rings, and men's polos on the back burner....... :$

Right now I really really want a Pandora tiara ring and earrings (stereotype, I know ) and a Nintendo DS. But Daddy isn't overly into big flashy gifts, so I shall save up for the DS and lust over the jewellery from afar.

I'm dying to buy these right now, I seriously think I've been eying them since Christmas time when I was shopping for others.

I have to return something and get that money back first though. (Stupid broken zipper, I wanted the skirt I had bought.)

You could easily make those, they sell the clips at most dollar stores. The rest is a lace ribbon, a heavy cloth ribbon, and colored string. I would reinforce the tie with hot glue inside the knot, (or sew it) so it doesn't come apart.

I make my own bows already, but rarely allow myself to make some for myself. And I quite adore these exact ones.

That ring is cute! I didn't even know tiara rings existed until I had a dream concerning one and then looked it up to see if they were real....... of course in the dream, mine somehow had a carousel horse on it that spun in circles...... I'm waiting for a DS simulator to come out.

I'm glad you think so.   I just told my papa bear about the positive responses I was getting and he laughed and said, "Of course, those little babies always want something or other. :p" I guess it's true. Those are cute! I haven't seen the movie yet....we went and saw Love & Mercy about the Beach Boys instead but I'm eager to see it eventually. I love figurines.

That's super cute. I also lover skater skirts. Last year, Abercrombier&Fitch was having a sale and I snagged up a really cute red one. It's one of my favorite skirts and trust me when I say I'm one of the last people who would normally shop there....it's so comfortable and coquette like though! They have good sales this time of year.....

 

Speaking of which....Ralph Lauren is having a 65% off summer sale. There's a few shirts on there I really, really want to get for the papa bear......and there's plenty of nice polos, sweaters, slacks, shoes, etc for decent prices......and there's some baby stuff too! All of the vintage dye items have really cute pastel colors....

I'm currently obsessed with Lush brand American cream conditioner and their Fairly Traded Honey shampoo. Their products are quite expensive but I've seen such vast improvements in my hair over a two week span that I will never use any other product. It's a huge plus that the American Cream conditioner also smells of baby powder and is very soft, moisturizing, and sweet. I really recommend it for dry hair. I'm excited to try the two bath bombs while on my anniversary/birthday trip in Gettysburg, PA.   One is a 'sex bomb' (for naughty times in a huge tub) and one is a rose bath bomb since I never get to take a bath here at home. (We only have a shower stall.)

I also finally got my Melissa shoes which was an ordeal in itself. (I'm not at all pleased with their customer service.) The shoes themselves are gorgeous and smell of bubblegum whilst being an eye popping bubblegum color! So pretty! They just came in time and the ribbons are so cute!! I am afraid they won't stay up, but, I'm watching ballerina shoe tie tutorials and will have to just treat them as such.

 

I'm currently getting together my papa bear's anniversary gifts, (and I put them in the cutest little baby gift bag that I will have to take a photo of sooner or later) and am waiting for my Mcklein laptop case for going back to college and for a Too Faced highlighter for my face. I really want to photograph papa bear's presents though, (once they're all set.) I'm still working on his photo album and have one story left to log.

I have been contemplating replying to this, and after asking my Papa I decided I will. I am a avid lover of fashion and all things retro girly, most notably the 40's and 50's. These two things are what I am desperately pinning over. Papa says he thinks the dress is nice and that the belt will do my petite waist justice But he doesn't know about the purse, since we tend to go outside a lot and that color of purse isn't practical for the dusty area we live in. He is probably right...but nonetheless I am hopelessly pinning for it.

I really recommend BonneChance collections as well as LaceAffair and Modcloth for more retro items. Also, etsy, can supply you with genuinely retro articles of clothing. That dress is cute though, and the purse is very pretty.    My papa often times thinks the articles of clothing I acquire are impractical but it's hard to reconcile that with how lovely they are.     

 

If you like pastels, I recommend Kate Spade purses.
