PennyGoodfellow Posted January 27, 2018 Report Posted January 27, 2018 Hey all! My hope is for this thread to be a place to share resources and share some ideas with other CG's out there who like giving homework to their littles. My baby girl gets daily assignments emailed from me and all assignments are written in her notebook, or a google doc is filled out and submitted to me to check over. I'm starting to put together some resources and thought that other CG's might like this in case your little likes/needs some work. These aren't punishments for us two, baby girl just likes learning new things, and she is usually happy to do the things I give her, since each homework assignment gets a point in her "little bank." But they can be a punishment if you two so decide. [The little bank is an idea that others might like as well. For every chore/assignment she does (including self-care things) she receives an agreed upon set of points. All the chores and activities that she can receive points for are outlined in a doc that she can view, but not edit. Every day she reports to me the things she's done, and I check off on them and fill in the points in a chore chart that I've created. The chart goes on a weekly basis and auto adds the points up for me. In the little bank doc there's also a list of rewards she can cash her points in for.] So, here are some of the places where I find ideas - filter what works and what doesn't for you. TED talks. https://www.ted.com/ Free talks - ranges in length and topic. Do a search for things your little is interested in - or if you two have an agreement for behavior modification/personal development then you can find a crap ton of those there. I like the pep talk sort and this one is one of my favorites: https://www.ted.com/talks/lidia_yuknavitch_the_beauty_of_being_a_misfit#t-572504 Here's a link to a worksheet for TED talks if you want a worksheet to go with it. Feel free to make your own and add subtract questions based on ability and interest. https://www.giftedpage.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Ted-Talk-Worksheet.pdf http://noexcuselist.com/ A list of online schools and websites where you can learn pretty much everything. For a more academic stand point between you and your little. teacherspayteachers.com Aimed at teachers, and homeschoolers - check out the free worksheets and you can download if you don't want to go the extra mile and make things. You can search by age too, which I like. That's all I've got right now that would work for everyone. A lot of the stuff I have is specific to my baby girl, and I'm sure you'll find a lot of stuff for your littles, but if you find any general content let us all know! 8
PennyGoodfellow Posted March 17, 2018 Author Report Posted March 17, 2018 Found a few more resources for anyone who wants more structured classes: https://www.coursera.org/ - free MOOC classes, by top universities for those older littles/middles who want to actually learn something instead of busy work. http://www.littlepaganacorns.com/ - for the Pagan inclined. My baby girl and I love this one - especially all the lap books that you can make. Free printables. Paid Subscription: https://www.littlepassports.com/little-passports-world-edition (Not advertising, not affiliated, just looked cool) I haven't tried this yet, but this looks fun for littles who want to travel the world. Might give it a go, if so I'll make sure to give a review for everyone here to see. https://www.littlepassports.com/little-passports-early-explorers - for smaller babies, lots more toys instead of info, same company as above. 1
PrincessLilBug Posted March 22, 2018 Report Posted March 22, 2018 You could always look for writing prompts for creative stories! Not everything has to be super science based! You could use https://openstax.org/ to go over old mathematics topics like basic algebra all the way up to calc! Assign math problems, and both of you brush up on math topics! It also has Physics and chemistry, as well as psychology, sociology, economics, and US history. This is a free service also!
Daddy137 Posted March 23, 2018 Report Posted March 23, 2018 (edited) Hi, new Daddy here and my Little REALLY likes the idea of the “little bank”. Is there any chance you could attach a sample of said doc so we could try it out? Edited March 23, 2018 by Daddy137

Great resource though, thanks!

PennyGoodfellow Posted April 8, 2018 Author Report Posted April 8, 2018 My daddy just gives me coloring homework, but I'm more of a baby than a little eep. I used to, but baby girl decided she wanted a little more structure! Coloring is still really fun homework though!
Guest DD66-UK Posted April 8, 2018 Report Posted April 8, 2018 You can set up the 'little bank' idea in the app 'OurHome'
