Let's say you lived during that time. Paranoid sheeple gossiped about you and accuse you of being a witch, fear turning into hatred, hatred fueling mobs. You're not sure why or how it started, though it's probably something petty. All the asshats in town are out for blood and will stop at nothing until you are dead. What would you do? What would you think? I'd like to hear from you.

well since i am into some form of witchcraft, i'd certainly be dead. i'm not entirely sure what i'd do. i have the privilege of living in a time where it is hardly dangerous to unashamedly express my beliefs and such. i'm so used to being unafraid to tell people what i believe in and openly express such things. i'm not sure who i'd be if i were unable to do that.

but if a town were after me i'd probably flee into the forest and live there, practice my religion, and remain a hermit. who needs people who hate you for no reason other than lack of understanding.

I would fear for my life and probably kill myself before they could catch me.

Because idk if you know much about what happened to people accused of witchcraft back in that time, but they were subjected to absolutely horrendous torture.

 

I mean, having pride in your beliefs is one thing...

But I couldn't muster enough pride in any belief to be like "Yes! I am a witch! *puffs chest out proudly*" meanwhile they're attaching the thumbscrews and crushing my fingertips into pulp, breaking bones all over my body, leaving wounds to fester while I too rot in a cell waiting to either starve to death or be burnt.

I'd be like "hey, they didn't believe in these other people who insisted they weren't witches- it won't be any different for me, i am not a unique snow flake." and would just off myself before they could.
