Did you watch the Thanksgiving Day parade?

I know there’s a lotta Littles in this forum from other lands, so forgive me if everyone knows this already. For many Littles in the United States, the Thanksgiving Day holiday is observed today, November 23. It’s a holiday where many families cook a ton of food to give thanks for the blessings they’ve received, and to carbohydrate-load for holiday gift shopping that begins tomorrow, often referred to as Black Friday.

Macy’s Department Store organizes a Thanksgiving Day parade each year, with high school and college marching bands, famous singers, and enormous balloons that look like cartoons. Did anybody watch it this year??!? There was a Hello Kitty balloon, and Power Rangers, and there was SANTA CLAUS at the end!!!!!!

I didn't see, I'm from the Netherlands. It's funny how we're slowly starting to do Black Friday aswell, I mean it's not extreme and with a chance to get trampled to death, but hey, it's sale everywhere! Pretty cool.

Pacibrat, I agree! one of those broadway songs was kinda sad. And the Spongebob one was...not was I espected. I would have liked to ride on the Sesame Street float! How about you?

Wolfy, Black Friday makes me so sad nowadays, I have to kind of ignore it. Some people are so greedy. I trying to be happy with what I have. D wants me to practice being MINDFUL. I still hafta practice that.

I was there, living in central NYC, just 5 days ago :( A shame I couldn't stay another week, especially since we actually saw people starting to prepare the stands for the parade while there

We started doing this in Denmark as well, although the black friday prices are usually no more than 20-25% off (And only for cheap stuff) :/

Fun fact: On the trip to NYC I just mentioned, I was able to buy clothes that would have cost me 10-20 USD more per piece in Denmark, EVEN with the 25 % off. So... Black Friday is not really the same here in Danmark than it is in the US

It's a tradition to have it on as we get the meal ready.  While everything is cooking, we sit down together and watch whatever is left of the parade and the dog show that follows.  Usually about the same time 'Best in Show' is announced we're setting the table and sitting down to eat.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the parade, KitKat!  I liked the singing tree the best. :)

Congratulations to her! It’s an honor to be chosen, and I know it takes a lot of hard work and preparation.

Yes I love it. It's Tradition

It is with us, too, Cap (hope it’s ok I call you that). It’s one of the things D really enjoys every year.
