BunnyBear Posted November 21, 2017 Report Posted November 21, 2017 Ummm hi, I'm not sure if this is the right part of the forum to write about this. And this doesn't affect me personally bc I'm neither deaf nor Mute, but I realize story time and children's books etc is something a lot of us love. And maybe your little or your caregiver may be more or deaf, Idk. But if anyone is struggling to bridge the gap or wanted something to make story time better for themselves. There's a link here to some ASL adapted storybooks, that may help? Or someone may want? Idk .///. I just thought it'd be nice https://www.etsy.com/shop/deafplanetsoul 4
Panda God Posted November 21, 2017 Report Posted November 21, 2017 I thought this was an advice thread at first. Cx While I am not completely deaf, I frequently lose my hearing due to recurring ear infections, and the struggle is very real sometimes. I don't know ASL, so I cant really use those books, but I'll definitely recommend them to my friends. Thank you for shining some light on them. 1
Tinka Posted November 21, 2017 Report Posted November 21, 2017 Thank you so much, that is so sweet of you! 1
BunnyBear Posted November 21, 2017 Author Report Posted November 21, 2017 Oh no! Ear infections suck! My sister suffers from those all the time too. I hope it gets better and thanks! >//< yea I wish I could give advice but I thought the resource was nice. 1
Guest SweetKira Posted November 21, 2017 Report Posted November 21, 2017 As someone who is hard of hearing and close to deaf, that is very considerate and sweet of you to think about. 3
KinkDaddy1971 Posted November 21, 2017 Report Posted November 21, 2017 Personally, I'm very aware of Deaf and its community. I'm fluent in American Sign Language. 1
Guest JayRingo77 Posted November 21, 2017 Report Posted November 21, 2017 I swear I feel like some of you people have my login credentials with how spooky the timing is on these posts. Right, Kira? I just had this conversation (wanting to learn ASL) with her and *poof* here it is. Thank you for this resource. I'm going to go sweep my apartment for listening devices and work on my tin-foil hat. 1
