Gemstones, Minerals,crystals, fossils, OH MY! Rock Porn! 

 

Are you a rock and mineral fan too? This is a good thread for you then! 

 

I really like minerals,gemstones, fossils and crystals.  I got into collecting them maybe 2 years ago, I've always been into gemstones and for a long time I didn't know where I could get them from. But I live in an area that has a rock shop that sells them.  I also got into making cabs too. But I don't do that hobby nearly as much anymore! I need to get back into it.

 

But anyways, I really love gemstones, I like the natural formation thats they have and the crystalline structure you can see in the gemstones. I also just think it's really neat to be able to pick up a stone and crack it open and see what's inside of it.  Because I like natural formations you would assume I only like those kinds. But I do like manmade ones too. A lot of them can even just have colored adds to them, so being synthetically dyed.  I also really like gemstones that have been peddled out. 

 

My favs are : Tigers eye, Aquamarine, Aqua aura quartz.  

But I do like a lot of other gemstones. 

 

I'm thinking I'd like to start collecting more fossils.

I would like to get more into this myself. I received some small gemstones when I was younger and I've always been fond of them and thought they were special. I also like normal kind of rocks that look pretty. I need to do more research to see what things are actually made from. Should post some pics of pretty rocks & other things here.

Me, I had a grandma who was a biology teacher and she had a huge collection of all the things related to biology including minerals and even if I personally don’t know much about it, I keep the love of watching them : )

Otherwise as I’m a Dino lover I’m more into fossils ^^

Oh, thank you. But don't be jealous. It just takes awhile to add up. I also really luck out because I go to second hand shops and sometimes they don't know what they have. The opal also came from my friend. Not all of the rocks in that album are mine, I just own the photos.  some are from a rock and gem show.  :3

Saw the title of the thread and immediately got excited. I looove rocks, crystals and minerals. My favorites are moonstone, rose quartz and obsidian. I have a lot that I don't even know what they are. I'll try to get around to taking photos of some later. They live all around my room in random places, wherever I feel like I want them. For example, my curandera/folk healer teacher had me to put rose quartz in all the corners of my room to keep the energy calm and it really did help (which reminds me they probably need clearing). There are some on shelves and on altars, by my bed, in some of my purses, on jewelry... hehe.

If you take pictures I can try and help you figure out what might be what. (maybe) I'm not super great at IDing rocks and mineral but I do know a lot of them.

I know I'm commenting on a really old post... I was about to make one on this but searched it up to make sure there weren't any already out there on this topic and found this one. 

 

Anywayssss I just got some new stones and I'm excited! I now have Rose Quartz, Moonstone, Tiger's Eye, Agate, Amazonite and Citrine. I have them all in stones, I really want to get a rose quartz on a necklace, it is my favourite stone! Not only do I love the energy it brings but it is also so pretty! 

 

Next I want to get an Ametrine and Amethyst!

At first I thought it would be a music thread for some reason, and I’m not disappointed at all.

 

I love rocks and crystals.

I always found them aesthetically pleasing, until my mother started working with them and I later got interested im witchcraft.

 

I have a small collection, I only have a clear quartz, amethyst and rose quartz (it was big so I had a piece of it cut and made into a necklace).

 

My plan is to get more crystals and have them on an altar I want to make, with all my candles, incense and books. The truth is I just moved to a new place and everything is messy and I have other priorities right now, but I’m slowly working on it.
