princessbabykoala Posted May 24, 2015 Report Posted May 24, 2015 Hi! This is my first thread so I hope I've put this in the right section! Anyway, I was talking to my Daddy this morning about who my role models, both as a little and as an adult, are and whether they would be considered "healthy" for a young girl. I realised that both as a little and an adult my role models have very similar traits. As a little girl I look up to Mulan and Princess Anastasia and these two have always been my role models since childhood. I then realised that my adult role models are Jodie Foster and Lee Miller - Jodie Foster being my role model since I was 12 and Lee Miller only really in the last couple of months. All of these women have similar character traits when I thought about it. Both Mulan and Anastasia are quite feisty characters. They are both intelligent and strong-willed and as a little these are things that I admire as I'm quite shy and can be a push over in regards to certain things (I don't mean a push over about my Daddy, I'd do anything for him anyway. I mean I bend over backwards to do things for people outside of my relationship and I get taken advantage of sometimes because of it). Then I thought about my adult role models and realised that Jodie Foster and Lee Miller are also quite strong, independent women who were motivated to become the best of their fields. These are traits that I look up to as an adult for inspiration as I would like to do the best of my ability in regards to my degree, work life and relationships. Anyway, the realisation that I'm drawn to these types of female role models intrigued me and I wondered if anyone else, little or big, has any role models? If you do, who are they? Do they have anything in common? Who do you look to for inspiration and motivation?
Guest Sae Posted May 24, 2015 Report Posted May 24, 2015 My roles models are Audrey Hepburn, Dita Von Teese, Wonder Women, and Hannah the Mermaid. Audrey is one of my more current role model. I found out about her and even Dita Von Teese when I was 18. The both of them are really strong and beautiful women. I like Audrey because reading about her life and stuff on wiki I notice that there is a lot of really interesting things about her. Like the era she grew up in, and her personality outside of acting. Plus she is an amazing actress. I really like Dita Von Teese because shes so pretty, and I like how she started out. Plus she also collects oddities. Wonder woman has always been one of my role models ever since I was younger. I use to look up to her as my 'mum'. Shes a really strong and amazing character, and I really just like how she is portrayed in the comics and even the tv shows. Shes not so much worried about her makeup and other petty things. Which is one the reasons why I really liked her. Oh and I loved the old tv show of her, even though shes a woman shes really strong and not vain. Hannah the mermaid is also a newer role model for me, shes an performing mermaid. All of her fins are hand made, but shes also an ocean activist and she tries to spread awareness of animals in the oceans, and shes made some really good pictures and videos that draw attention to the ocean and its problems. :3 1
