MrTeddyAdventure Posted October 27, 2017 Report Posted October 27, 2017 (edited) I want to get this off my chest where I can at least know my feelings are expressed somewhere I feel safe. I am in $2,500 of debt right now due to medical bills and doctor visits. I have hypothyroidism, endometriosis, and very bad vertigo. I have almost fallen into a coma from the hypothyroidism, and have been told that because of the issues internally, I will never be able to bear children. I have been to the hospital often due to the nausea, vertigo, and the immense pain that comes with endometriosis. I am paying $100 a month right now to pay down the debt, but I feel like I'm getting nowhere. I feel incredibly stuck, and I try my best not to cry about it. I smile in front of everyone when deep down I want to crawl into a corner sometimes. I am trying to keep my mind away from it, but I don't know what else to do. I have a low paying job, and I am also looking for another job to try and pay this bill down, but I haven't had any luck yet. I've been having serious issues getting into Little Space or any overall fun activities lately. I've also been to nauseated to really do much. Edited October 30, 2017 by MrTeddyAdventure
Guest SUeB Posted October 27, 2017 Report Posted October 27, 2017 Are you asking for money? Sorry, but i have to ask. Don't be offended, but hopefully you will understand why i feel i need to say this.
maxben10 Posted October 27, 2017 Report Posted October 27, 2017 :/ sorry to hear that, i really hope you could find a way to deal with it, do you have any family members who can help ?
Persephone_Persephone Posted October 27, 2017 Report Posted October 27, 2017 Gosh thats terrible to hear. I probably in no way can help but if you ever need someone to vent to im around. Im not going to try and give you any advice. It sounds like you just need someone to listen to you. Hopefully here you can do that. I hope things pick up, really do.
cuppycakes Posted October 27, 2017 Report Posted October 27, 2017 I'm sorry you're in such a rough patch right now, but it's not forever. You can get through this, even if it feels like it's taking too long for anything to happen. I'm not great with finances, but I can direct you to somewhere that is. If you give them your full situation (I mean numbers for your income, bills, all debt and anything else your can think of) a lot of the time I see people helping other people out with stuff. It's a sub reddit called personalfinance. I don't think I'm allowed to link it, but you can google it. I really recommend it, they'll tell you how to get out of your debt as fast as you can, but just so you know, $2,500 is a very doable number! You're already paying it off every month! You should be proud of yourself where you a today. As far as being little goes, maybe you could even set aside 10 minutes before bed to watch cartoons or color a picure. You can even just do some things in your daily life that makes you feel little (Like taking a bath, bringing a small stuffie to work, putting bows in your hair, or even just wearing super cute undies). Sometimes that can take away some pressure you feel. Lastly, give yourself time to be sad. It can be so hard to keep things bottled in all the time, and it's not healthy. It is okay to cry. Maybe you already know this, but it doesn't hurt to be reminded that being sad can be healthy for you. Sometimes when I'm stressed I'll say "I don't have time to cry" and my feelings will just well inside me and make my tummy a mess and my head hirt. It's no fun. When I cry, sometimes (this sounds dumb I know) I have to do something by a deadline, so I really don't have a lot of time to cry, so I'll set a timer for however long I need and I'll cry for that long. When the timer goes off I'll feel better and go back to work.(that you can't be in littlespace for, tho, otherwise you moth just keep crying) I'm sorry you're sad, but good times will come. You are in control of your life, and you're already doing things to help yourseld. That's a great start. Good luck and if you need anything you can message me!♡♡♡ 1
TwilightSparklez Posted October 27, 2017 Report Posted October 27, 2017 I can't help you much on the finances: full-time college student here so my finances are somewhat in your boat. I do try to keep a budget for every little thing and don't spend on unnecessaries but making the concession of a once in a while treat. What I can help you with is the nausea. Ginger is going to be your lifesaver. Buy fresh ginger and make a big batch of sweetened tea you keep in the fridge to sip on when you're nauseous. Get some candied ginger to eat. If you can find ginger chews without all the additives that's good too. I know you can get them at Whole Foods and maybe Trader Joes.Ginger is the bee's knees for nausea.
MrTeddyAdventure Posted October 28, 2017 Author Report Posted October 28, 2017 Are you asking for money? Sorry, but i have to ask. I work very hard...for everything I have, and what I want to take care of. It's just that right now I am very ill, and having huge bills like these come up doesn't really help the situation at hand you know? I just feel a bit stuck at the moment. I've been nauseated and incredibly dehydrated, so I am making sure I take time to rest. No need in trying to make extra money if you die before you get to see any of it.

Hopefully you can get your health into better shape. Feeling ill can put extra stress onto all the usual day to day stuff. Just take each day as it comes. Talk to the people asking for money. Try arrange a mutually acceptable way to pay your debts. They cannot take what you do not have. If you go to them, rather than bury your head in the sand hoping it will go away, they are more likely to try come up with a solution, rather than just keep demanding the originally agreed payments. Not saying that you ARE ignoring it, but it's a very common thing.
chubbylittleseal Posted October 28, 2017 Report Posted October 28, 2017 (edited) I am sorry you are under so much stress I have endometriosis as well and it basically controls my life. I have always been too afraid to ask about the possibility of children; I don't think I want them but I am scared to be told that I never can have them. My mother has endometriosis too but was able to have my sister and I so, don't give up all hope on children. I find baths are really helpful for my pain and help me relax and be just a little less stressed. My doctor refuses to give me painkillers so when the pain gets really bad I am like basically bed ridden. 2 years ago I had what I believe was stress induced vertigo and I found a low dose of xanax to be helpful and also helped with my nausea as well. I give you all my respect to be dealing of that and working at the same time like mad kudos. I hope things get easier and or your body gives you a break. Edited October 28, 2017 by chubbylittleseal 1

Not saying that you ARE ignoring it, but it's a very common thing. I'm working hard at it trust me, and I thank you for your honesty and advice. I know a lot of people who just straight up ask for money but don't really give an understanding as to why they need the help or where the money has gone to cause the debt in the first place (you know what I mean?). I feel like in this day and age working hard, talking with the bill companies, and continuously making double and triple payments will help in the long run. I do not plan to take out any loans or add any extra worry to what I'm doing right now. My father and mother called me and told me what I'm doing is fantastic, and to give it time. They told me they were proud of me for working so hard and being strong. That along made me feel so much better already to be honest. Edited October 30, 2017 by MrTeddyAdventure
