Guest littlelisafrank Posted October 16, 2017 Report Posted October 16, 2017 I was wondering if there is a weight limit on suspension bondage, particularly Shibari type stuff, and does anyone have any experience with suspension ropeplay with someone over 200 pounds? I've been interested in Shibari for awhile now, but I'm 5ft4 and 250 pounds, so I'm concerned that I might be too heavy to do much. As I don't know anyone who has any experience with this in real life, I was wondering if anyone on the forum could give me some insight into what my limits might be and any kind of precautions I might need to take. Note: I'm nowhere near being able to try it out. I'm just trying to gain some knowledge about the subject. I welcome honest and respectful input. Thank you! : )
Guest McLeodLot65 Posted October 16, 2017 Report Posted October 16, 2017 I'd personally recommend panic snaps (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panic_snap) - I used them back when I did this sort of thing and they're a lifesaver.
GothicDaddy Posted October 16, 2017 Report Posted October 16, 2017 I actually only recently started to learn about suspension play, but from what ive learned there really is no weight limit, i have ropes the size of a shoelace thick that hold 550 lbs. That being said rope play in general can be dangerous with inexperienced people so i highly suggest maybe looking on fetlife for a local rigger who knows their stuff (thats where i found people to help teach me at least) . Good luck and play safe 1
