Seconded! Also, that was great of you to take in the kitties and nurture them back to health. It's a real shame the people near you don't appreciate the beauty of cats!

Um....I am usually very non-confrontational, but I and my family have lived in Pacifica and I knew for a fact (since I was a kennel manager) that there was at least two veterinarians there. I googled Pacifica veterinary and found eight pet clinics and a separate veterinarian. But it is still a good thing you did. I wish more cared like you. As a alumni volunteer for the SF SPCA I saw too many cases of abandonment and neglect. Mostly people that thought having a pet would be cute and fun, but did not consider the responsibility for a helpless animal dependent on them for survival. Being responsible isn't fun or cute. So the the animal became work. Since that wasn't part of the plan, the animal became a hindrance to having fun and was either neglected or abandoned. Some even believed by abandoning them they were giving the animal a chance to have someone more capable than them find and care for it and give it a better life. Reality was most died from malnutrition and disease. Only a few survived because someone like you found them. Good on ya.

That's a super heartwarming, special story.   Sad that two didn't make it, but It's great that the other two did. Kittens at work would be so nice!
Funny to me that you mention cats are akin to rats there, cuz my partner and I recently adopted three rats from the local humane society. On the way home, on public transit, we got every possible reaction you could imagine.

Plz plz pleeeeeeez post some photos of the kitten babs, and thanks for sharing that!

Glad to here that the ones that survived has been doing well! How are they now?
