So I wrote a bedtime story for littles, and I would love some feedback! I am considering writing a collection of bedtime stories, but want the public's opinion before I start. I hope you like it!

A long time ago, there lived a Handsome King and a beautiful Queen. They ruled their kingdom with grace and gentle hearts. The people loved the king and queen, and showered them with praise and adoration. But not everyone liked the royal couple. When the queen became pregnant, the entire kingdom celebrated by hosting a feast! The entire hall was decorated with ribbons and balloons, and there was a lot of fantastic food. Everyone was congratulating the happy couple, when suddenly the hall grew dark. The doors burst open, and a hideous witch entered the hall. Her long scraggly hair covered her face, and she was covered with ugly sores. She approached the couple, and spoke. “You think you are the greatest in the kingdom, and so honest and brave. But when your daughter is born, she will be the most foul of creatures ever created.” With an evil cackle, the witch disappeared. The kingdom was sent into chaos, and the king spent no time taking all of the precautions he could.

When the princess was born, the Queen screamed in terror. “Get that THING out of my sight!” She cried out in fear. When the nursemaid looked at the baby girl, she ran out of the room. The king demanded that the princess be locked away in the tallest tower in the kingdom, in fear that the girl would make the couple look bad in front of the people.

Years passed, and the girl was raised with the help of a small gargoyle named Squallant. She was raised intelligent, poised, and possessed incredible talent. She spent her days studying, and became a very powerful sorceress. She wore a mask made of the finest lace, that covered her face from the world. And one day, a prince came to seek the princess’ hand in marriage. Hesitant, the king and queen lied to the man, saying that the princess had died in an accident as a young child. They feared that the man would try to find the princess, so they escorted him into the town, encouraging him to seek another woman.

In the town, the man wandered through the marketplace, sampling the fine wares that the town offered. He came across a bookstore, and curious, entered. Books were piled so high they nearly touched the ceiling, and he picked up a couple of books, flipping through the pages. He saw something move out of the corner of his eye, and approached the shadow. A small voice spoke from the shadow, quiet and gentle. “Welcome. Is there something that I can help you find?”

“I am just looking.” He looked at the woman, and cocked an eyebrow in confusion. She wore a lacy mask that completely covered her face, but past that, he saw vibrant aquamarine eyes. He saw some flaws in her appearance, but was drawn to her spirit. He spent the day in the bookstore with her, talking and laughing.

When the day came to an end, he stood to leave. “I was supposed to meet the princess, but the king said that she died years ago.” With a sigh, she stood. “They didn’t want you to know that I am the princess. They sent me away when I was born, because I am not beautiful.” The prince stopped for a moment, and then gently touched her face.

“But I do not care that you’re beautiful.” He said with a smile. “For your beauty within is radiating everywhere. And I have never met someone like you.” He kissed her, a kiss so passionate that it knocked the girl to her knees.

They returned to the kingdom, and the king and queen were dismayed to find them together. In anger, the princess demanded that her parents allowed her to marry. But the king declined, in fear that he would lose his position of power once the princess married. The prince, against the king’s wishes, insisted that he married the princess, They had a lavish wedding, and they lived happily ever after.
