Guest Arc Posted September 21, 2017 Report Posted September 21, 2017 Think of this as a part 2 to my last post (https://www.ddlgforum.com/topic/25161-kitty-ears/) I finished off the tail and even made a collar. This was super easy to do, and I know some tails with tips can be expensive. I bought a $4 tail off of eBay, which arrived and was super soft and fluffy. I mixed some purple acrylic paint with some water, and brushed it through where I wanted gradually using an old toothbrush. It worked perfectly. The paint and water acted more like a stain on the tail than paint (you have to mix it with a fair amount of water so it doesn't go on as paint). When I was done and it was dried I washed it under a tap, rubbed in some fabric softener, and it feels like the unpainted part of the tail. The collar was just a basic pleated collar. There's plenty of tutorials for these online. The rivet and bell cost about $1. So all up... I made the ears for about $4, the tail for $5, and the collar for less than $2 (I already had the ribbon, but ribbon is less than $1 for a meter anyway). My friend was wanting this set https://kittensplaypen.net/home/1575-lavender-skies-cat-set.html# which is far out of her budget, so I just modelled mine from that. That set is over $100 and I made this set for about $10 I'm sharing what I make because I've seen people looking for budget friendly places to buy. But really, with a little bit of creativity you can make your own for even less 3
Guest Lepus Posted September 21, 2017 Report Posted September 21, 2017 Those are the cutest! I love the piercings in the ear.
Guest Arc Posted September 21, 2017 Report Posted September 21, 2017 Thanks. They were fake clip on piercings my friend had bought from the dollar store.
Guest Lepus Posted September 22, 2017 Report Posted September 22, 2017 No problem and they work really well
