When Littles have to entertain themselves

Recommended Posts

Little space is still pretty new to me. I love my Daddy and he's very nurturing and likes to help me explore myself. Problem is he works overnight and I don't. He and I have lived together for a couple years now(engaged) and he's been pretty understanding and supportive about me finding myself as a middle although he does seem a bit perplexed.

As I said, we're on opposite schedules and I have a lot of time by myself. I'd appreciate any suggestions for what sort of things

I could do for getting myself into the head space when I'm home alone. It's ridiculous, I'm 35 and sometimes I feel like I've forgotten how to just play and be in the moment.

I'm so stressed out sometimes because I just don't know what to do with myself.

I have friends that I do stuff with but life has been getting in the way lately :(

I love Death Metal and Invader Zim and Playing with my animals but I need to branch out somewhat.

Thanks for reading my mess of thoughts. I'm just trying to make some sense of things internally.

I feel the same exact way... and sometimes when I'm alone and wanting to delve into middle/littlespace, I feel silly. Then, I realize that is my adult side still trying to be in charge.

It is also hard, not having friends that identify with this sort of lifestyle. It is easy to feel bored when alone and wanting to decompress in little space.

I'm 31 and a middle with some little tendencies. When I'm alone and feeling playful, I'll veg out with some "littlespace snacks" - usually something like Cheese-It's with Minions on them or something sweet, listen/dance to some music that I like (throw my insecurities to the wind), paint my nails, read some fan fiction or comics, watch something like Sailor Moon or Monster High on Netflix. I have a zombie stuffie that always makes it to my sleepovers.

Hope this helps! :)

It does, thanks so much for your thoughts. Perhaps I'll acquire some crayons and maybe do some arts and crafts type things. And of course there's always chores. Definitely in need of more cartoons.

Boo. Just got roped into working tomorrow. Adulting freaking sucks. Oh well.

Boo. Adulting definitely sucks butt!

Another thing that helped, I looked on the internet for some books or coloring books that helped to fit "little me's" personality the best too, like I love superheroes... and I found a coloring book that had little sized superheroes! I went nuts :) I also just found a series of kids books about a vampire ballerina... totally perfect for me.

I didn't feel connected to any random kids book or coloring sets at the store... so it felt even harder to get into my headspace. Spend a bit of time checking out some things on the web and see what you can find :) I'm sure you'll have lots of exciting options to get you in the right little zone.

Feel free to reach out - I'm a newbie to this lifestyle too :) good luck!!

Hiiiiiii, welcome to the forum.  You are in the right place, this site has a TON of ideas.  It can be hard to find everything though...

Here are some starting topics, I would be very interested to see which ideas resonate with you because I turned 30 this year and I also identify as a middle.  My favorite little activity is coloring with colored pencils, although I also cuddle with stuffys, paint my nails with bright colors, and braid my hair when I have some extra time.  It seems like a lot of the little boys on this site are interested in dinosaurs...

And, because you need to take care of yourself as well as spending time being little, Little Self-Care: https://www.ddlgforum.com/topic/23598-little-selfcare/

Hope this helps!  Just do what feels best for you because everyone expresses their little side in a different way.

(Death Metal, huh?  What do you think of Metalocalypse?)

@Sachita - I love Metalocalypse!!! I'm an interior designer, and the episode where they redecorate the compound is one of my favorites.

I prefer industrial rock music (KMFDM, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, etc), but I can get down with some metal. :)

Thank you for the recommendations too! I will have to check some of these out myself.

Thanks much to both of you! Much appreciated. I love legos so definitely want to get my hands on some. One of the saddest days of my teenage was when my mom got rid of my huge Lego collection. I'm into some conventional boy stuff but I'm also into being kind of androgynous. I'm definitely a guy and that's what I identify as but I still love women's clothing, I just love being Daddy's little Nancy Boy and I love dressing up all cutesy for him. I like dinosaurs and was obsessed with Indiana Jones books when I was in grade school. I can't draw for crap but I like to write and sing and sew. I still enjoy doing odd geometric doodles and stuff, just can't render worth a damn. When I was a kid I was pretty fascinated with fish and marine life in general. I like Harry Potter books but got bored after the first four. And I adore Metalocalypse :)

Anyhow, my Daddy's awake so I'm gonna have to excuse myself but I really appreciate the insights and resources :)

Yay! Glad it helped :) sounds like you've got a ton of starter ideas to get you in the right frame of mind, you just need to throw caution and adulting to the wind.

Get lots of Daddy snuggles! :)

Got myself a couple coloring books (minions and marvel) and some crayons after work today. It's been fun, I just need to find some music that's more suited for this than... the vast majority of my collection ;) Edited by RainbowBritetheDestroyer

lol I'm not one for kid's music either... so I'll usually put on a little TV show or movie that I like and have that going in the background. Glad you're finding some great queues for motivation. :)

Also doing a lot of cartoons because music just kind feels awkward. Although Bjork is great at any age :)

Do you like Invader Zim? I think it would be right up your alley.

I LOVE BJORK. "It's Oh So Quiet" is the perfect song to get into little space. Great choice!

I have only seen bits and pieces of Invader Zim, but from what I've heard it does sound up my alley. I love anything with zombies, aliens, vampires, etc. Is it on Netflix? I will have to add it to my list. :)
