hiding your true self?

does anyone else have to hide their "true self" from family and friends because you know that they will never understand and judge you? I hate having to keep my little self hidden because i know people wont understand... I hate having to hide my stuffie because i know i will get laughed at... I hate being afraid to buy little stuf in fear of someone finding it.. anyone have these problems an fears?

Yes. Everyday. I hide a lot of things, and only act as little as wouldn't draw concern or negative attention. You're not alone. : ( *hugs*

I'm lucky in that my friends are all a little 'out there' themselves in terms of the number of kinks they have or the type, so I can be pretty open with them, but my family? I broke it to my mum a few days ago, and she sort of understood, but there's no way in hell my dad would, so I have to keep everything purely little hidden because he might find it.

I'm always honest and open about everything so my family (which only consists of my father and sister) knows all about me being a little and stuff and are okay with it. It's useful cause they'll give me "little" gifts and such instead of usual things 21 year olds get. My daddy and I both don't care about other people's opinions so we'll be little/daddy in public without a care (we're 24/7) and are the same at home, since we live with my family. Never had any problems with it-I'd never be comfortable hiding my true self

I've suffered with a bipolar disorder since I was 8 or 9, but it wasn't diagnosed until 5 years ago. My family just chalks my little behavior (some of it) to my being the youngest child by 9 & 7 years, over emotional, & spoiled. They accept my teddy bear collection, my coloring books (art therapy don't ya know) & my love of animated films to me just being "me."

 

They know nothing of the sexual side and I often have to bite my tongue when my highly spiritual sister starts calling kink & fetish play "evil". My other sister thinks it's "gross." I just smile to myself & think "ya'all have no idea what you're missing!"

Don't be scared hun I take my stuffie everywhere

Because I have bad anxiety and I get lonely also and at first my friends said I was a mess then warmed up and then this boy was like that is so adorable. Ive tooken all of 20 stuffies out side and to class and nothing bad yet try it. I'm sorry for anyone hiding there true self I too suffer from server depression and more I think u all are beautiful and unique maybe one day u will see it

I keep it to myself for my family but I might tell some friends I trust. Everyone is different, and I will always respect that. I like to look at it as it's my private personal life. It helps me cope with keeping it secret. Maybe it might help you, maybe not. Best of luck to you though ^^

Nope! I don't hide anything. I still call Dominus by his honorary in public or sir - he still calls me dolly, i always check in with him and even in the presence of family I follow rules. I think my family just assumes my Mum rubbed off on me. I was raised by my traditional old school Grandma so I was raised to be a housewife. I serve Dominus his food first, remove his plate when he's done eating, serve his drinks, etc. I have always been little, always loved stuffies and kid stuff so the people around me just expect it and aren't phased when I show up to a social gathering in a MLP t shirt and knee high socks.
